Here is the IJC Ashes competition prize. It seems a nice bat and is very soft. Thanks to Paul for running a comp I knew the answer to.

Well done, Steve!  :)

Glad it arrived safe and sound.  Lots of runs in this girl, surely?!  ;)

The photos obviously don't do it justice. I haven't weighed it but it feels wieldable and with gloves well balanced. I paid for it to be knocked in and this has been thorough as the grains are cracking encouragingly but there are still some seam marks from bouncing a ball. It's probably the softest bat I've had since my Warsop. I had eschewed the offer of a scuff sheet, but may need to go down this route.

The bat came with a nice full length cover, which was a good gesture from Paul, who could have kept it to sell or use as part of an actual purchase.

The best thing about this is I had it sent to my wife's work address as the result of the comp is on YouTube. New bat win!

The grip is pants, btw, and will be replaced.

Yep, packaging was good and solid — I feel that there are some runs in it, but definitely a raunchy fling rather than a long fruitful marriage... ;)

Well, it's first impressions Tush. The seam marks are only up by the legend sticker, not casting aspersions on the knocking in.

Well. I'm WFH today so have had the opportunity to get a bit more familiar with this bat.
I like the pickup a lot and bouncing a ball on it shows that it is pretty responsive, but then I'm not sure how to accurately measure performance in this way.
I think that I would more than likely pick this feel in a blindfold test, so I am beginning to get attached to it.

Better pic (maybe)
