So morgan has pulled out of the IPL auction. Presume he wants to get some early season runs and get his test place back
-
Now that KP's out, there's a slot to be fought over....
-
Good for him!
-
yeah, would quite happily see him back in the side. someone capable of taking a side apart in the same manner as KP
-
I commend him for doing this but i do wonder if he would have done it if KP hadnt been binned in the last week or so.
-
I reckon he hasn't made this decision on his own. He'll have had so e advice given to him by someone the ecb

He almost certainly wouldn't have, it's a case of the doors opened so he's trying to force himself to the front of the queue to go through it.
The fact he's not English may do him a favour too, got to keep the ratio right ;)

Ha good point!
I really hope someone steps up out of all of this mess and makes a name for them self in their own right, not just being in the squad because KP isnt. Could see the ECB trying a few people in his place and not really giving someone the chance to flourish and make the spot theirs. Morgan isnt quite ready to bat at 4 is he?

all depends on trott really and if carberry will still open.
cook
carbs
root/trott
bell
morgan
balance
prior

something like that doesnt have a bad look to it.

He might not even get a and if Trott is back then
Cook
Carbs
Trott
Bell
Root
Or root back up to open and no Carbs
Cook
Root
Trott
Bell
Morgan
No matter which one of those possibilities I look at they look a lot weaker without KP there

Not bad but still looks better with KP in it (sorry forgot we agreed to move on)

Almost certainly. If KP was there, he wouldn't have been in the mix anyway, so a bit pointless to try and force his way in.

1) Robson
2) Compton
3) Bell
4) Root
5) #BlameKP
6) Trott
7) Prior
8) Stokes
Much better

Good choice by Morgan. We need him in the Test team. End of.
-
In a serious moment, cracking decision by the ECB/Morgan. Get your head down, score a few 70+'s and make that number 5/6 his own. Would give England someone not boring at least

As Cook is captain, this may possibly be an outsiders bet of opening pair.
Can't see Trott batting anywhere else but 3, Bell can bat at 4.
-
I think Morgan may be aiming for a bit more than a few 70+'s
He needs to be making 100's, just likie any batsmen trying to force their way into the side
-
Good move by Morgan considering all the muck sorrounding IPL.
