Gonna be an interesting season at headingley.

Hmmm interesting.  I am not 100% sold on that signing.

Good for the white ball cricket, less so for the longer form.

Yup. Be interesting to see how he copes when it's hooping about and darting off the seam on a typical Yorkie morning!

Yeah, but it is not the first Yorkshire team he has signed for....

Here's the averages for Aaron in 2009 when he played York and District Senior League.

At least he know the area, although the step up to County level will be interesting.

Averaging 28.19 in first class cricket (on a much more benign MCG pitch) is not exactly Bradmanesque...

Unless I am missing something he is only going to be playing one day cricket though, as we have already signed Kane Williamson for the full season...

That brings back memories - good to see Matt Till and Paul Skilbeck still doing the business!

Did you read that manormanic? As he says this in that article

“I hope to play in all formats whilst I’m at the Club and even though the T20 season will be very exciting, I’m looking forward to testing myself in red ball cricket too

“It is important for my cricket development to play in English conditions and to help Yorkshire be a force in all forms of the game will be a good challenge for me.

Red ball cricket is the 4day stuff right?

I did, but you'll note he "hopes" to play rather than "has been signed" to play and the reference exists to Williamson being at the club.  Only one can play in the Championship, and it will be Williamson unless unfit.

Sky sports news says.

"Replaces Phil Jaques as over seas pro for the 2014 season"

And I'm pretty sure jaques and Williamson played together last season?

Jacques has a British passport, and Williamson has already signed!

Fun indeed - almost as good as getting Davie Millar back would have been!

Counties need hitters for the shorter formats, that will bring the punters in. The 4 day game rarely sees star names of old due to the logistics of international cricket. I like ajmal being at worcs for a good chunk of the season, offers something different to the batsman/fast bowler overseas.
