I am finally back in the UK, so I decided to take the SS acquired from Onlinestockist out of the cellophane wrapping for some better pics. She weighs 2lb 8.45oz in the state shown in the pictures, and it really does 'ping'. :)

As you can see on the pics, it is a fairly full profile, with just a touch of concaving. I do prefer bats with only a little bit of concaving or none, so this does fit the bill! I've just always found that they generally perform a bit better! The finishing of the bat is really good, not the best, (Salix and Laver) but I am impressed with it. I would say it is just under Newbery. The side on profile is one I also like, with the sweetspot being around the T and the O of the TON stamping. The toe I feel is a little skinny, but you're not really supposed to score off that area, so it doesn't bother me too much. The playing area starts pretty low on the bat, despite the toe being skinny, and goes up to the Limited Edition sticker, with the main hitting area sounding like a rifle! The bat is also pretty bowed, it will be interesting to see how I find it - I like using Lavers, which don't have bows, and also like using some bats made by TK, (so I'm told) which are bowed a little.
I have put on a scuff and made the bottom of the handle more oval since these pics. It weighs around 2lb 9.23oz now, and picks up really nicely, it feels quite light and balanced, probably a 2-3 on the GM pick up index. I have to say, I am very impressed by this, it is the first SS bat I've had, (Unless the Hunts County I had was SS made, which was also an absolute gem) and it really does feel superb in all departments, especially when testing with a mallet. It will probably hit around 2.10 after I put on the shoe goo toe guard, oil it, and after it settles down and takes in moisture from the air, so around my ideal weight! :)
If anyone wants anymore pictures, please just ask! :)

The profile looks outstanding, as does the polishing on the piano.
(bat envy!)

Thats a cracker Chad. Ive been emailing Ajit for a month asking for a SS TON LE and he cant do one with an oval handle.
Does this have an oval handle as it appears so?
-
That looks a good bat Chad. The ca you sent me last year is really starting to open up And Pings like a trampoline... look forward to seeing how this ss goes.

Looks lovely ... Love the pics :)

Wow!! Thats a Beauty!! You cant go wrong with SS LE from OLS!! Easily the most popular bat they sell..
-
Looks a lovely one Chad, were dies it rate in the collection?
You must be racking up the numbers now!?
-
Looks a decent stick chad. Surprised to see minimal concaving, usually all SS are heavily concaved.

Yup, the profile is lovely, I guess the difference between this profile and the usual LE profile is that the spine runs further down to the toe on the regular one, but is quite a lot more concave. Cheers, I guess playing the piano is my favourite hobby, with cricket coming second, so makes sense to snap some pics of both my hobbies together. :D

Hi PM7, it has a round handle, but that can be easily fixed! Here's what I've done to the handle, it looks a little odd, but feels almost as good as any other oval handle I have!

Frank, don't remind me of that CA! :( It was an absolute beaut, can't believe I sold it! >:( Hopefully this SS is as good, if not better! :)

Yeah, far too many bats! I just don't know which ones to get rid of! In terms of ranking, it's hard to tell without using, but I think I will prefer it to the Helios because of the nicer pick up. It will be interesting to see if it tops my Laver! From initial impressions, I would say at least in the top 5, if not the top 3. :)

Very nice looking bat Chadders. Have you received your new laver yet?
-
Just noticed that this has no toe guard. Did you specifically order one without? Thought these bats normally came with toe guards..

Cheers Rob, it is a belter! The Lavers should be sent out on Friday, not sure how long it takes to get here from NZ, but I'm missing my Reserve already, sent it back for a little bit of delamination repair and for them to make an accurate copy. Fingers crossed they are just as good, if not better than the first! :)

Hi Mo, this came from the factory with a toe guard, (was toe guard-less and wrapped in cellophane when received) but if I asked Ajit, I'm sure he would have managed to get one applied. I prefer shoe goo over toe guards though, so this is ideal. Toe guards still leave a gap between scuff sheet and the toe, while shoe goo can seal this gap. :)

Hi Chad, can you please post some pictures of how you made the round handle into oval ? It will be of great help :)

Sure thing, I actually found some tape wrapped round the handle of one of the bats I purchased, which I think was some shock absorbing foam tape. I took the tape off the handle, as it just made the handle feel a little too spongy for my liking, and I just cut it into small bits and ovalled out the handles of a few bats by placing strips of it on the handle, and wrapping it with some insulating tape. I had to do two layers on this SS, as the handle was round, while the others were semi-oval.

I know you can use Tennis replacement grip tape to replicate this effect too. I guess just play around until you get it to the thickness you like! Hope this helps, if not, I'll try provide a better explanation. :)

Hi Dave, I am in a bit of a dilemma at the moment, as our league uses Lord's balls, which are rock hard... I don't know if this will survive against a ball like that, but I guess I will knock and play it in carefully first. I guess it is only wood, and bats all break eventually anyways! Definitely good enough to be my match bat, that's saying something!

Cheers bud, it really is a stunner! I kind of thought it would be perfect to sell on to you, but I'm a selfish man... ;)
nice bat you got there chad!
Cheers Jason. :)

Great bat pal. I've never had an SS and am strongly considering it....even more so now!

Hey Chad. How's your bat going. Is it better then your previous bats. I have been in touch about Ajith about this bat. He's recommending me this and a SF le. So abit confused which one to go for.
