Title: We've had a few famous visitors recently
Post by: Vitas Cricket on February 12, 2014, 09:36:33 PM
A little while ago we had Rob Sayer in the shop, we sorted him out with a few bits in preparation for the U19 World Cup where he will be representing England. Rob has signed on professional terms for Leicestershire for 2014, having previously played for local side Peterborough Town in the Northants Prem. He has signed as our first Vitas Cricket brand ambassador, a mostly decorative title. Going forward we may look to sign ambassadors to our Lion brand when we do pads and gloves properly, but i imagine Rob will be on the books of one of the big companies very soon! We wish him well at the World Cup which i believe is live on Sky!

Today Wes Durston of Derbyshire was in the shop, he had a net as part of a gear test we hosted for a local sports and lifestyle magazine: http://www.theactivemag.com (http://www.theactivemag.com)

Wes was the lead tester, and i must say every bat looked like a gun when wielded by a professional. Wes is a great lad and it was a pleasure to spend a couple of hours in his company. We wish him all the best for the 2014 season.

I remember going to uni and playing cricket with Wes. Nicknamed Romeo back then though. Agreed, he is a top lad!

I saw Wes play set Denby last year in the final we had there and he is a gun batsman, played effortlessly and hit the middle with every shot played, and he's also a really good guy to talk with too.
