Here as promised gents is my AJK kit that i was using last year, the AJK bat is a full back custom shape that i selected from the clefts at Salix and Andrew handled, shaped, bound, and stickered up himself. The bat weighs in at 2"91/2 has an oval bottom handle. The AJK doesn't have a face sheet on it as i have been knocking it in with a bowling machine and indoor cricket to get the best out of it for this season, the face has just started the mythical "opening up" hairline splits down the grain on the driving area, so i will be taking it to the workshop this weekend to get a super thin facecover on it just to stop the moisture leaving it/ getting in at the start of the season.

Very very nice mate
-
Looks alright I guess... *Dribbles like Homer Simpson*
-
Very Nice bat ...... No heartwood and 10 grains. None of this 20 grain stuff
-
Would Mr Kember grade a 20-grain cleft as grade 1+?
I'm not sure he would.
-
Becoming quite fond of salix.....

I'm not sure he would.
i think this one plays as well as it does cause of the even growth of the grains to be honest, it really is a lovely big bat for the weight which is what i was looking for.
-
Impressive set of kit for sure.
-
looks a quality bit of kit :)
-
Like the profile of bat
-
awesome bat.. how BIG ar ethe edges on it?
-
The softs can only be described as "sexy"...
-
Lovely looking kit that is ..:) really tempted :)
-
How are the gloves and pads in your opinion?
-
the pads and gloves are goat leather palms and have a leather covering on the outer of the gloves are leather too, the are very light and comfortable, if im very honest though I haven't tried many other pads on as I like the fit of the Salix pads with the knee cups and have never been hit on the legs and had bruised legs so In my eyes if it isn't broke ...... !! I'll have a measure of the edges, id say it is comfortably up there with the biggest of the bats I have and is a good 1.5oz lighter than close rivals
-
Sorry if this is a silly question but i'm on my phone.. Do you not have a scuff sheet on that beauty?
-
Nope doesn't look like it.
Have yet to see a bad Salix.
Thats about ideal for most people grains wise. Not me (sorry) I'm unfortunately the more the better.
-
no I don't have scuff sheets on my bats until they open up, for the first part of the season I will have it when it is new, then second half of season and winter I take it off. second year the bat comes into its own..........
