Anyone had any recent experience of SF softs / bats.
both on where they bought them from, and what they thought of them?

I have a pair of the old gloves mate and they are great, the best gloves I have ever had but cannot find them anywhere!
Really soft palms, really good flexibility and the protection is top notch too.
I have the elite players.

I have used a sf sapphire mate was a Sri Lankan pro bat was very decent on a par with sareen
There softs where just a a nice as sareen as well of what he had soft palms and great pads with great protection

Yeah, I borrowed some and they were lovely.
Not sure I can bring myself to buy any from online stockist though, think I will look to get them over here.

Although we don't have them listed on our website we have both softs and bats in stock from SF. The bats are exceptionally good. In fact when Andrew Kember from Salix was in with us recently, he commented on just how good he though they looked and felt.

I have used a mate's SF Sapphire bat and it was simply superb in performance, but they are usually soft pressed and a bit dry (as expected).

Nothing different needed to any other bat though really, some linseed oil and mallet loving sorts that out

Agree mate, few extra (hundred :-[) hours of knocking needed on them, but I definitely like them for their performance, bang on money (as with BAS bats).

Got some top end samples from them recently but I was not blown away by the quality. Pads looked and felt a bit thin and I expected more protection from a top end product. Gloves were nice and comfy but was let down by finishing. Also only fibre inserts on the two bottom digits of lead fingers instead of all of them.

I've got a pair of all white test gloves love them really comfy and look great, top quality at a cheaper price plus not many people have them.
Just bought a blade 15000 bat not used yet but sounds great feels it too both bought from SQ Sports

I have a pair of SF Testlite and Triumph batting gloves. Both of them are really comfortable. Triumph gloves has a triple split on the thumb finger and this makes it really comfortable for my bottom hand grip.
I wouldn't share the same enthusiasm for the SF bats though. The piece which i received was 105 mm wide. I wasn't expecting this. I placed it next to my GM Octance 808 and immediately noticed that the width is a little off. I measured it later on and found that the GM bat was 108mm wide while SF measured 105mm. When i inquired the seller about this, he mentioned that certain Indian bat manufacturers reduce width in order to obtain a fuller profile. I couldn't get it replaced so ended up using it but always had a nagging thought in my head about the width. If you are likely to feel the way i did, then i suggest checking the dimensions of the bat prior to purchase ...

How good are your eyes though? If you can spot a 3mm difference in the width of bats without measuring them first that is impressive.
Then again you're talking to a bloke who's 6ft1 and happily weilded a harrow a couple of seasons ago, so a few mm doesn't really bother me... :-[

If the width doesn't bother you then you are good to go. Then again it was the only one piece i had so its quite possible that the other bats were of proper width. Better to check first ...
Last eye check up says 20/20 vision .. so should be pretty good eyesight then :D !! In reality i work on IC layouts which require me to check millimeter differences in alignment and sizing of circuits. Combine it with my OCD, i am bound to spot things like this ...
