Title: New MSD7 range from Spartan...
Post by: VKS on March 05, 2014, 02:04:49 PM
The new Dhoni range by Spartan will be available in a few weeks with some really cool looking, bats, softs and camouflage print bags. Below is a pic of the launch image.

Having seen the rest of the range, I can say its looks good!

The spartan bags are massive and look the bees knees!

Looks like BAS has gloves contract for most of the Indian team players
Dhoni, Rahane , kohli , murali vijay and some more

You're right but I think these images were taken before the new batting glove range was designed. Going forward he'll be fully kitted in his Spartan gear.

I think they're for his World Cup, Champions Trophy and World T20 trophies actually

Have you not read any of the reporting on the Meiyappan trial, 'pal'? Dhoni does not smell of roses.

Just going by the recent discussions on libel, mudslinging etc. It seems you can get away with it depending upon who you pick to write about.

Yes, there will be 2 models. Neither one looks quite like the gloves he is wearing currently though.

ICC offered to have their anti corruption staff oversee the IPL, BCCI declined... that tells you all you need to know about the IPL!

Going forward he'll be fully kitted in his Spartan gear.

I doubt the WK gloves and batting gloves will be 'Spartan' that he uses. May end up with the BAS batting gloves being coloured/labelled appropriately and that will be it on that front.

Similar to what sachin had and Raina uses

BAS gloves with white and black combo and Adidas logo

True, I've just always been tempted by a pair of camo keeping gloves but not wanted to go down the Online Stockist route

Thanks for posting the photos, shame they didn't stick with the same sort of camouflage design as Dhoni has been using as that was IMO much better than this effort

I haven't seen any actual gloves as yet or the spec sheets, so not too sure. From the photos they don't look to have pittard palms, but hopefully I can get some info next week.

I don't think these will be pittard as Kunal is not a big fan of Pittard palm but can check with him

you'd imagine that the gloves that MSD will be wearing would have pittard palms, but who knows if the ones that Kunal will be selling to the public will have pittards

why would you imagine that? the BAS ones that lot of Indian players prefer doesn't have pittards.

Watching the West Indies vs england t20 and Andre Russell appears to be using yet another different spartan model, are they creating new colours for every sponsored player? Surely they can't, would be impossible to supply all the variants? Will they be confirming a 2014 model range this year or do they make it up as they go along? Not trying to be negative as I actually like the look of the Clarke range and to a lesser degree the prior and gayle bats but just doesn't seem good business sense to keep chopping and changing

It's just bemusing as so few options are actually for sale, I would have thought having 4 or 5 clearly different models would have been fine but they seem to product different stickers and matching loves for every sponsored player

They change the look of the bats every couple of months, must be very difficult to make profit with that many changes

I quite like the different stickers as it distinguishes each grade.  Within our Spartan range, which is deliberately sparse and will only include the SVR, MC and MSD kit, it will help out a lot.  I also think it's wise to offer a pink bat in a low price option only, which is exactly what they've done in the MSD range.  Not sure we could sell through a pink bat in every single price option, but it's nice to have it there at the entry level for the odd few who want a pink bat, especially as there aren't many others on the market bar the Nemesis...

If we were stocking the Gayle and Prior ranges too, all these stickers might get a bit confusing!

The spartan stockists dont seem to rate the gayle range. Ive been looking for a 3lb sh authority since last season and havent found one yet!

hundreds of 2.9 mc/mp/sir v's about though.

Might be due to the most popular weights mate, not as big a market for 3lb tree trunks as there is for a nicely balanced twig  :D

Oh i know im in a very small group in terms of weight range. Hence why i struggle to sell anything second hand. B7t as the cg authority is meant to be large as its gayles bat. Youd think it be easier to findm

The issue is mr vks im very particular about my bats. And will only buy if i get to see the blade before purchase.
And so far the stockist that have said they can get me a 3lb authority have all said i can only return it if faulty/damaged. Not because i dont like the looks(something vitas promised me with a 3lb gm. Order if i dont like return and ask for another till one i liked arrived)
Pm me if you can do that?

Maybe if there was more clarity and consistency on the ranges it would be easier to distinguish between the new, old and future models the players are using. I like the bat/ gloves Russell was using and I like the new mc range he's using but by the time they hit the shops they will more than likely have changed the stickers if the past is anything to go by
