I'm in the market for a new stick (aren't we all) and having just popped to my local sports shop and swung a few bats around, none of them took my fancy (including some lovely M&H's and a Salix)
It dawned on my they just didn't feel right in the hands, the handles were all too small and quite round. Just wondered if there were any brands which produced bats with large and more oval handles as standard, or is it just a case of all handles being different and i need to try more bats?
Any help appreciated.

Getting it custom made can certainly help. i would be more than happy to produce a bat for you with a large oval handle.
off the shelf wise it does seem to vary. some brands only seem to do this on selected models.

Hunts do big oval handles. I can get you any of their bats at very good prices. I have many bats with oval handles, not necessarily particularly thick though.
Many of the bat makers on here will also be able to help.

We have a few bats here with really large oval handles. Let me know if you want for info etc

Thanks chaps, I'm up your way next weekend Vitas, might pop in and have a browse if the Mrs will allow me!

No problem, you are more than welcome. Open 9-3 on Sat.

I'm in a similar boat, having large hands I have naturally used two grips. I was in at B3 last week and the guys there suggested double binding the handle. Allowing for a thicker handle but without the spongey feel of two grips. Personally I'm a huge fan, something to try perhaps?

Yes, i did this for a customer recently and he is very pleased with the result.

Can't recommend this enough. But feels south better with the extra binding with none of the jelly handle feel

Big oval handle = more weight, but better balance
I think the trend is for a small oval / semi oval to save on the dead weight.

I have had a 2nd bind on the bottom hand and 2 grips to thicken the handle of a bat up has done the job (2 grips is a norm for me really didn't want to add more due to the points raised in the thread).

Scat?

I would say Screaming Cat and M&H make the most oval handles of all the bats I've ever seen...

You can try to put a couple of grips thats what i do since i like thick handles or you can get the bat custom made. I know screaming cat make the spine go through the handle almost.

Adam, ajmw89 is worth a call, can definitely produce that sort of handle.

Thanks for your comments guys, much appreciated! I was just after something that replicated the handles on the Warsops i've been using for years.
However, ever the bargain hunter, i picked up a brand new Hell4Leather G2 on eBay (from the very generous simonmay5, who threw in a Safbats bat cover for free) and in an irritating twist, has the smallest, roundest handle i've ever felt!
I've packed it out with strips of grip and tape and feels ok now. Just have to get used to it as the bat is a serious weapon!

Found the same with my H4L, 2 grips sorted, great bat none the less.
