Title: Big toe protection
Post by: fazza1970 on March 14, 2014, 09:33:11 PM
Big toe has been stamped on by a "bustling" Sunday League centre-forward just as pre-season nets have really got into gear.
Now have a black big toenail (stopped bleeding but very sore).
Anyone know if there are any boots which offer particular protection for batsmen's toes?
Or is DIY protection the way to go?
I can absolutely guarantee being his on the toe (my front foot) at my next net...

Don't know about footwear, unless you go for some Doc Marten work boots.

Tape it, wrap it, plenty of bandage to cushion it. It'll be fine.

Make sure you use the bat.

Sound advice. But my near-lifelong obsession with getting to the pitch of the ball - and size 12 feet - means I quite often get to the pitch of the ball - literally... :D
