Went to B3 today to talk about my new role and also to pick up my new bat and my new keeping gear before my first game tomorrow.
Whilst i was there i sneaked a few top secret pictures of some of the in rage butterfly willow was impressed by it's response.
Anyway my new bat was used once by the player and he returned it for another mentioning no names but he opens the batting for a county...
Love the bat needs proper knocking in but great stuff.
Finished my kit off and here it is...

I personally like the new stickers but they do have a mixed reception with the B3 boys.
Sneaky peaky pictures of the quality of butterfly clefts which are not available yet.
I tapped a few up and not bad and unlike alot of butterfly clefts there not to heavy.

I see the point to butterfly in so much you can get a very good bat cheaper and see it merits i really do there not quite my cup of tea yet but i slowly becoming swayed.
Interesting though is my players bat nice profile and not a stunning beauty but a bat build for scoring runs.

Please see this as it is intended it is my new bat and some sneeky pictures i took with my mate...

Stuff looks good mate but you didn't need to mention no names when you have pictures of the bat up with those stickers ;)
-
The butterfly are the ones interesting me i have used them before and understand them although they tend to be slightly heavier due to the marks and some like the hardness/marks in the sweetspot i like them below and near the shoulders.
There some real science going on behind bat technology at the minute some real eye opening things.
Your right Reds as this player is a actual sponsored player but it shows the professional players don't always go for the best looking although he rejected this one but it good enough for me
-
Whats the going rate for a B3 butterfly?
-
That would be adverting mate which I'm not doing until we are allowed to become forum sponsors if it is possible.
All i can say is there going to be cheaper than a 1 stripe Series which is at £140 to keep in the price scheme of things.
No matter how they play we grade them under a 1 stripe
-
Nice set of bats there, which one do you use in a match
I think at below £140 that second butterfly is a good deal.
-
The first one the original 1271 mate but it on it last legs and the union Jack one is second in waiting mate.
I have promised to give B3 my 3 stripe custom as it was there first bat and i think history should be preserved.
My new one is heavier than the rest as usual but need knocking in i think the player must have used it on a machine mate.

What's the vital statistics mate?
-
Errr
Good bat
-
I don't think we'll picked butterfly is heavier. The butterfly I have from Aldred is absolutely in the size and weight range of my other bats.

On average and it is a known industry fact butterfly clefts by and large are slightly heavier than non butterflied bats.
Mass to cleft ratio...
The density content is slightly higher mate.
It good learning from one of the world's leading willow technicians I'm learning so much I'm truly privileged and owe the forum for firing my enthusiasm.
-
I meant weight of your new bat!
-
2-10 ish with the big octopus grip mate i have been using 2-9 in the nets so all good.
-
Are all your bats similar profiles? Or have you got a variety, dependent on why mood your in...
-
Most are similar with few twists nope I stick to just the one and get the rest ready in the nets and machines.
Just love my bats
-
You shaw that does not belong to me with sm5 on the front :D looks a nice stick
