This is the Test Opener model. I need to confirm a price with GN as this has had a drastic redesign, it was a plastic shell lid when we saw samples in November.

As you can see the box indicates that it conforms to the new standard. Certainly the peak area feels very robust. I am very impressed, comfortable, not too heavy and hasn't moved drastically away from a 'traditional' helmet design.

It's not a looker IMO. You can see where they have bulked on the peak.

Grill looks a tad square to me. Are there any ear guards included?

The sticker will cause a certain member to have a cow though.

I saw this in Hobbs sport in Cambridge this morning Jake. I thought I didn't recognise it, had no price on though.

Has the grill been made thicker to prevent facial injuries?

What is the weight of the helmet?

I don't think it's too bad, I don't know why looks like a horse riding helmet.

I actually quite like the design, the grill design looks pretty cool, and I'm guessing isn't adjustable? It does stick quite close to the traditional image I have of what a lid should look like, but I have an Ayrtek, so my views are invalid. :-[

Can't see Cooky going out in one though.
The material looks slack at the front!

Urm, Ayrtek...
i stand corrected.. although the ayrtek design is different.. atleast it looks decent. where as the masuri/gn looks like theyve tried to keep it traditional and ended up making it look horrible

I know the Ayrtek is seen as a bit of an ugly duckling...

But with this new standard, all the other helmets look worse IMHO.

Glad I invested early!

Do you think it will just be ayrtek that will be able to have an adjustable visor with the new standard?

Will these just be in Navy? Or will they have the usual selections?

Dreadful looking. Sorry.

Dont apologise, unless you were the designer.  Everyone is entitled the their opinion (until you ram it down people's throats).

I don't think it looks that bad, I always think they look better being worn than when they are just being held like that.   The Masuri was similar, looks better being worn.

I always think the GN helmets look like jockey hats with a grille attached

im surprised how many manufacturers had only changed their current helmets to pass the regulations rather then redesigning the helmet. im surprised none have taken an inspiration from ayrtek and thought "outside the box" a bit more
