Title: B3 three stripe
Post by: wilkie113 on April 07, 2014, 08:33:41 PM
As many of you know, I bought a bat from the B3 forum day, and I thought I'd give its own thread with a bit of an update. This bat was used by Will Bragg, and luckily he didn't get along with the shape so I was there to snap it up.
When we went down on the forum day, I was little bit skeptical as to what to expect. Not really sure about the idea of bat being made by part machine part man. But I had my mindset changed rather swiftly when I saw how much passion and thought goes into the bats they mate, and the passion they have for the game we all love, very happy to have bought a bat from them and to be part of what I think will be a company thats making bats for the rest of our careers.

Anyway on to the bat, it's 2'10 on the nose, and after netting with it around 6 times I think since getting it, I'm really starting to get along with it nicely. The middle is very big, and coverage across the width of the face good as well.
Overall a good experience, and knowing they have the bat on a file, on a hardrive or PC somewhere so I can get it made exactly the same again is very nice.
I'm glad that I went to the day and picked this bat up. Terrible pictures again, but will update with some in the sunlight (when we get some)

The irony of putting a GM grip on a B3 bat!  :D

Make a comment on the bat, not the bastarding grip haha

Thomas, that is an absolute sex-stick, a piece of flat-faced loveliness.

What happens to the Dynadrive now?

Has anyone seen Dave's new shape, is it nicer than this?

Yes indeed I have and no my personnel opinion it isn't - Dave may tell you otherwise......

Is Thomas's shape programmable off the website or completely bespoke?

Pull down the grip and quote the number to b3 and they should be able to do it. Not 100% on this but I think they charge the same price as a series if you quote the design number. When I was at B3 I did mention there was a market for this kind of service ie. using somebody else's bespoke design. Some designs will be confidential but imagine how cool it would be to have a Pro's setup, or even just your team mates bat that felt particularly good in your hands?

Fattus, if you want my digits all you gotta do is ask!

I've seen your digits, clasped around the grip of your favourite bat!

Send me your digits and I shall see if B3 will copy it.

B3 will do anything for you Fattus - if you visit them make sure you tell them in advance to stock up on the biscuits!

Indeed if you can quote the 4 figure bat number then we can replicate the exact shape and weight.

I fear this thread is becoming very strange very quickly, therefore, i will attempt to bring us back to the OP and away from Fattus' digits...lookstop stick mate, hope it goes as well as it looks, i think they have hit the right balance with the concaving here, just the right amount if concaving is required. also like the look of the shoulders, very GM esque, means it will pick up well

There is next to no concaving what I like. I purely picked it up, and couldn't put it down, ask any one that attended, I was walking around with it under my arm haha!
The sound it made Wednesday was ridiculous

After using it in a game yesterday, this bat is to good for my ability haha! I scored a 50 and retired, but the bat really did help me, I was scratchy and not timing anything. But the middle on the bat really carried miss timed shots for runs.

A guy at my club is sponsored by b3 and was messing about with one of his bats on Saturday. Have to say I was pretty impressed with it, well balanced, picked up well and nice looking grains too

Braggy is a teammate of mine. I think he was inspired by Michael Clarke's square toe, but personally I didn't like it. He's started the season well with Glamorgan tho.

I really like the B3 gear and the guys are very passionate.
