Title: Pressing Bats

Is there anyone local around the U.S who would be able to press a couple of clefts for me. I have the clefts with handles in them but have not yet been pressed. I have no access to a press.

try and reach out to people at CricMax. I do know that they do bat repairs and they might be able to help.

We are working on the design for a bat press but it will be a while before we have it working. I don't know of anyone else over here who makes bats. There are a few guys who do repairs. You'd have to be careful putting a handled cleft through a press. Wouldn't it crack the handle?

Jason at cricket store on line might have a press as he is making his own bats.

Yeah I got hold of two English willow clefts with handles in them. I was going to try to make them myself my first try at a bat however found out they were never pressed.so now what do I do from here. Would I get away with just knocking them in. Thank you

Zafar only does repair work and as far as I know Jason works with an overseas batmaker and does repair work from his location in Texas. You'd be better sending them to one of the guys in the UK if you really like the clefts and want them pressing. It may be more cost effective to buy a couple already pressed. If you just want to practice shaping them they don't necessarily need to be pressed.

I think Jason just started making his bats, not 100% sure whether he has a press or not.
