Just been spammed an email from "forum.cricketbats.com" about this company:
http://www.xprocricket.com/ (http://www.xprocricket.com/)
Anyone heard of them? Trying to charge ridiculous prices for quite horrible looking kit IMO
-
Well if they're spamming emails, they haven't exactly got off to a great start in my eyes without looking at their kit.
-
Having had a quick look at their site, it's very poor without touching on their products. There isn't even anywhere to purchase the products from. Avoid.
-
i searched the phone number
came up as Cricket World in Bolton.
-
I know it's a bit pedantic, but they are using full thickness tape on the grip.
Pet peeve of mine
-
Can't decide if the bats are UK made or not - I'm guessing from the wording they're not
The spam thing just annoyed me, like you say its not a great start really...
-
Spam annoyed me as well!!!
Don't like their "sponsorship" package of buy All their kit they'll give 20-40% discount on aero RRP. Which is pretty much shop price anyway.
Their bats all come
with "iconic x pro design" like I could pop into Hunts and ask for a bat with xpro design. They'd probably ask me which ex pro.
Their use of iconic had to make me make this:

Paul Tebay of cricket worlds brands ex league proffesional cricketer and decent bloke.
-
I have told them not to spam me again and requested they provide me the details they hold on me, which I can do under the data protection act.

It's the same organisation responsible for the old CSF forum, so probably has a mailing list from that

Website looks very home made.
Could even be a wordpress template.
Nothing which stands out. The pictures of the green stickered bat look pretty poor. No sign of grains, butterfly (or some kind of) knot on the back.
If online is your main route to market it's got to be amazing. Nothing less. If it looks village then the attention to detail and commitment to getting the whole package right are lacking.
It does surprise me that with the sheer volume of great information and free advice around companies still go to market looking less than 'right'.

Nothing wrong with a Wordpress site! Around 25% of all sites are made on it, including a lot of major companies.
However they could definitely have done a better job!
