Title: New bat and Refurb
Post by: potzy248 on April 19, 2014, 06:42:35 AM
Season has finished down here but I thought I would sort my bats out for next season.
The first one is a Laver Reserve. No concaving at all, asked for an Aussie Legend type profile without the flat face. Weighs in at 2.9 and has one of the largest sweet spots I have used. Didn't trouble the scorers too often this season but when I hit a ball it stayed hit. Refurbed after the season as you can see by the before and after photos. I think the new Vantage stickers make the bat look great and will be a one of a kind in NZ.

2nd is a new Reserve. Asked for a traditional shape but made for cross bat shots like the pull and cut. Bit heavier than I am used to and with a C-10 oval handle 2.10. The handle really makes it "feel" lighter and would be one reason for the extra weight Id say. Can't wait for a hit with it as I have always used a light bat with traditional handles.

Always used Lavers and again the finishing and craftsmanship is the best of any bat maker I have ever seen.

Nice. The older bat has come up well.
It may be my eyes but the new one looks narrower.

Nice work Potsy, they look like fantastic sticks. I have just been giving my H4L a full sand and has come up a treat, just hoping Paul at itsjustcricket can come thru with sourcing some new H4L labels as I would like to stay true to the brand.

Matt has always been reluctant to ship stickers. Last time I asked it had to be done in the factory. I couldn't even get a set and I've bought q stack of bats from him!

Good luck.2

Lovely profile :)

Thanks. I've always been a fan of this profile. Never really got on with a con caved bat and am not a fan of their special profile at all.

Hey mate how did you source those vantage stickers in NZ?

Bought them from Gingerbusiness on here. Was pretty easy.
I know you can buy them direct from Vantage although they are quite expensive.

The stickers that I sourced for Vantage cost more than what they are currently selling them for - however, I know that the quality of the current stickers aren't as good as the ones I sourced.
