Title: Woodstock Curve XL Refurb
Post by: Gingerbusiness on April 21, 2014, 12:00:21 PM
Afternoon all.

As it has been the Easter holidays, I decided to take a step back from the teaching malarchy (Marking, Planning and the politics - NUT are planning to strike AGAIN in June) and enjoy myself. Catching up on TV, going to the gym etc but also do a few refurbs.

I don't know if any of you can relate, but there is something about working with wood which is very enjoyable. I don't know if it is a man thing, but as every teacher has a bit of OCD, this comes through on my refurbs (Which are improving because of this forum! Thanks all :)).

I saw this on the for sale section from praguetaz and put in a cheeky offer (Bit of toe damage - yorker presumably - but saw it had been repaired by Dean without doweling so much be very superficial).

For those of you that missed it: http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=29802.0 (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=29802.0)

I have spent a bit of time, and money, making sure it was going to look good. Messed around with the type of grip, facesheet etc used. But still comes in with 37mm edges on a bat which has a 7mm camber on the face. Now the bat comes in now at a more manageable 2lb11oz.

Here are the results (Please bear in mind that I do not have inflatable sanding drums or loose leaf polishing wheels...  :-[)

Feedback is always welcome!

Thanks guys.

Phil, I tried to send you a PM but your inbox is full.

Haven't received the CA yet. I have emailed AirCityPost a couple of times after paying the customs charges but haven't heard back from them.

Have you received yours?

Thanks.

Great work and looks good in the Woodstock stickers again...I wish i'd had it weight reduced when it was being repaired and would have kept it myself.. it's a pinger...
