As someone who lived in Chelmsford for many years, he will find a good selection of drinking dens to quench his thirst.

He will soon discover the legend that in as 'Essex girl'.
Happy days are here again.

As a current Chelmsfordian who can see the county ground from his office. I fully intend to put in some late evenings and play 'Spot the Staggering Jesse' down the street. As well as trying to follow him (and probably Monty) into town like a lost little labrador.
On a serious note, whilst i think he's a really good player and in cricket terms a great multi-format signing, you really have to question if its a great idea to have him as a person around the place as an influence to the other players, especially in his elevated status as 'Overseas Player'

A few liveners in Chelmsford then off to Bas Vegas for Jesse! ;)
-
In which case he could end up as more of an 'Overseas Playaaaaa'
-
Could be either
A) an inspired signing
B) A regular at A&E
Imagine him and Napier batting at full tilt!

He's made some mistakes but there is no doubting he's got a talent. Yes he could lead people astray and potentially let himself down but what if he applies himself? He could help demonstrate the advice of don't follow in my footsteps etc
I like that Essex have given him a chance as if nothing else, it will improve their side.

haha, Jessie does TOWIE!

Due to New Zealand and ipl shunning him. It's a great signing.
He can perform all formats. But will be a godsend in the flt20. Dud can hit a ball!
Probably make Essex a lively night out too! Just hope he stays out of "hospital" trouble.

i reckon he will be a good signing for them. averaging over 40 in tests.
if essex managed with danesh kaneria as their overseas player for a few years jesse ryder might seem like a good influence
-
I genuinely don't think he'll lead people astray - most of his issues in the last couple of years have been of the YArdy ilk or a result of Kiwi Chavs seeing him as an easy target for a spot of bother.
-
Well yes - and there'll be none of those types in Chelmsford!
