Title: Special bat from my Mate happens once a year
Post by: procricket on April 24, 2014, 03:36:10 PM: As some might now my mate comes over from Lahore once a year and always spoils me with a bat.

This time he has got me a belter in my weight and it is as big as a 2-13 bat.

Ping on the monster is great I've said he got it from a mate in Dubai who has good Indian connections and is reputedly out of this players bag. I never doubt my friend who has played first class cricket for over 15 years and is good friends with the likes of Misbah Ul Haq and Ahmed Shahzad.

A few on this forum know him of have seen him play he opened his Lancashire league account by scoring 170.

Now the player bat he normally uses 2-12 or 13 this one is 2-8 so not sure what happened there but the size and feel tell me this is special plus my good friend also gifted me a Shahzad one day shirt and his Lahore Eagles hat.

Post by: procricket on April 24, 2014, 03:56:04 PM: All i can say is i have generous friends and as Max knows him will tell you this man is a legend and i have known him for 10 years and funny enough we where born 6 days apart yet i'm 35 and he is 31 now!!!

Forget size just the stiffness in the blade is unbelievable i hope a forum meet is arranged i will share this bat for all.

I found in India and Dubai in the sun bats do tend to brown off a tad more.

I have tried to locate the maker through the handle but something is different to this than any other bats most Indian makers i can tell with a look at the handle this one is slightly different

I seriously don't have that many bats i tend to give them away/ lend them no point in keeping loads to look at no hoarder here..

Nope agree it has been baked in India and Dubai and latterly Pakistan so it has had some nice weather and moisture content will be right down no doubt about that.

Wonderful offer so I thank you for that. I have 2 bats though and as I can only use one at a time that is plenty for me for the time being.

If that's the case, then won't it add some weight now it's in Blighty?

Would you need to give a good coat of oil to lock out the moisture?

Oh, I was thinking, it's much drier and warmer in London. I could look after it for you. you know, to keep it dry. I won't use it much (honest).
