Hi, I want a custom made bat which is illegal but i want to see the effect of it in practice
My requirements
Grade 1 willow
Laminated Bat
Rubber or skyer foam or cork between the two blades to get maximum trampoline effect
Handle: 12 piece cane handle
Edges 40mm - 45mm
Weight: 2.9-2.11
I want anything in the bat to get maximum trampoline effect but weighs not more than 2.11
Can any bat maker make this bat for me?
-
Well thats a bit different from the usual 'I want a 2.7 bat, with 50mm edges, no concaving and a 85mm spine'!!
Certainly a challenge for a batmaker i'd say. Imagine it'd be best to make a laminate as you say, but mill out a section of the rear part, insert your foam, rubber, composite, whatever. Then glue the slim front part on.
Very interesting.

ask the bowler to use a bouncy ball, they go miles when you hit them.
-
Best one i have seen was a Callen form Australia who corked a few bats .
-
Well !!! that's an odd request.
-
Just get bulldog or BB to source you a laminate mate.
get a big one at 2.11 and they do fly

THANKS EVERYONE TO SHARE THEIR VIEWS. I KNOW THE REQUEST IS A BIT ODD ONE BUT ANYTHING CLOSER TO THAT TO GET MAXIMUM TRAMPOLINE EFFECT?

No need to shout :)

Golf balls go well off a cricket bat too, harder to catch for the fielder and less chance of bein bowled as they fit between the stumps ;)

if someone agrees to make this bat for you then please order 2 bats, one for me, would pay handsome amount for this type bat, i am serious about it.

Ryan did a few experiments with Lams, might be worth checking with him as finished product looked really good.

Send Bulldog cricket a PM, he will tell you about a batmaker who has tried pretty much exactly what you are asking, apparently the results were laughable (as in, the ball went miles). Not sure if they would be prepared to make one for you but no harm in asking :)
And yes the Cullen Corked Laminate, have been toying with the idea of emailing him for a while now to see if he will do one for me!

I remember the days when Malik were filling their bats with rubber!
Happy days!
