Title: B3 Prototype Specials x2 2-9 and 2-12
Post by: procricket on April 29, 2014, 07:56:37 PM
I messed around with a couple of shapes when i was there over the last month or so one is similar to the 1271 fabled bat.

As there my prototypes no stripes where applied i'm sure you will agree there better than some of the other stripe valued bats.

Both are good bats and a bargain at £130 plus postage which your going to struggle to get in a UK bat of the same quality for cheaper.

Bat 1 The DW my shape.
2-9

SOLD
Bat 2

As you see there a few knots and stuff on the back does not effect performance and is 2-12 and very similar to the 1271 Profile

The DW shape reminds me a lot of one of the hammer shapes Dave.

It is a mix mate from  arrogance to a couple of others including my favorite New Zealand Brand. I just wanted most of the meat in the playing area. I have been looking at Toes i think it is a area to save weight but more angled then made smaller but kept this as it is.

My thoughts behind the shape is but the meat in the hitting area yet keeping a spine but scalloping any meat on the top half as it is wasted and used my 1271 as the template spine wise.

I really though long and hard about the spine running into Think it helps the balance.

Hi Dave, is the second bat just a 1271 with a bit of concaving to keep the weight down?

Yes mate made out a medium density cleft so it was to keep the weight down a bit of scooping but not overly a solid bat i would say.

Very nice bat, picks up a tad lighter than 2.12 and when I picked it up I couldn't put it down!

Oh dear... I am tempted, although are there any 1 stripe clefts that may be light enough to make a proper 1271 profile in 2.11-2.12?

Bat 1 (DW) really looks nice, so irresistible at 130, good that it is already grabbed by someone luckier.

If it was 2.6 -2.7 like the one on your profile video Id be all over them. Great looking bats. Maybe time for NZ to have one.
