Hi,
Both our 1s and 2s are desperately short for their first league games this Saturday (3rd May). As it stands the 1s are likely to have to nick some players from the 2s and the 2s will have to call off. Anybody out there want to give it a go? Batters, bowlers, keepers, we're not fussed though especially short on bowling and keepers. Depending on ability you could end up playing in either 1s or 2s. Both teams are in the Surrey Downs League http://www.surreydowns.org/ (http://www.surreydowns.org/) made up of village clubs mostly in the Guildford/Dorking/Reigate area. It's competitive cricket, but not too serious. You'd be guaranteed a game this saturday (weather permitting) but we’re on the lookout for new members anyway so, besides this weekend's emergency, let me know if you are interested.
Cheers

There are some lovely fixtures in the Surrey Downs league - I have been a member at Headley for the last 20 years and they play in that league. (I usually play for a different league club on a Sat)

Thanks for the plug :) Agree entirely, most of the grounds are really nice to play at, and the cricket is competitive but pretty friendly. Not played at Headley itself but played a couple of times in your Old Freemans fixtures.

Love playing at headley, always look forward to the annual fixture. As long as it's not a cold day, not the best protected ground from the elements

The offer's still open if anyone's interested. We've got 2 sides but neither with 11.
As I said, leaving aside this weekend, we are always looking for new members of all abilities ( though probably not too good :)) so let me know if you're interested - its a very friendly club, and as buzz will testify, we have some really good fixtures.
