Folks, just around a month to go for the season to end here in Mumbai.
I asked someone in passing why I was getting out cheaply this season (have scored something decent only in 1 match :-(). He pointed out that my footwork has become non-existent.
I want to do something regarding this off-season, so..
1. I feel am not light on my feet and hence probably playing late. What do I do to become a quick mover on my feet?
2. I think I have gotten into the Saurav Ganguly / Sehwag mould - limited feet movement. How can I improve on this?

Skipping, agility ladder, fast feet on the spot.. Stuff like that to improve speed of foot. Think about what a boxer would do in training to keep them light on their feet etc

your head position is what guides your foot movement and as such is more important.
ask yourself
are you getting your head moving towards and inline with the ball?
are you getting your head over the ball through the shot?
once you can answer yes to those questions, the issue with your feet will stop being an issue.

Thanks a ton guys! Will get to those exercises of a boxer real soon.
And Buzz, am going to observe myself with my head position today in the nets. Thanks!!
