Just a random thought, has anyone tried a pointed toe? basically the opposite to the MC square toe. I'm not sure how extreme you could take it but the theory would be that you would be able to leave more wood higher up the blade which would also help in pickup. Downside would be playing out Yorkers and the bizarre look.
