Title: Any standard cricket shoe with plastic/composite toe cap?
Post by: petehosk on May 12, 2014, 03:53:07 PM
Hi all - after just suffering a fractured big toe on Saturday (2nd in 5 years) I was trying to find out which cricket shoe on the market (IF ANY) has a decent composite toe protector that would protect my fat toes?

And if no brands do decent toe protection, then would somewhere like Brian & Brenda or Shoe Doctor do some decent composite inserts or toe caps they can fit on?

Cheers  :)

There are no shoes with protection in them. Maybe time for ayrtek and adidas to come up with one as I would give up my Asics spikes for a shoe with protection in!!! Come on Tom sort it out!!!!

Slaz's latest spikes apparently have D30 in the toe, but don't know to what degree.

Our work sells trainers with carbon and kevlar toes that are light as.
If they do some in white. Them spiked up would be awesome.

A quick google search suggests that there are a great deal of available lightweight trainers with composite toe caps. I wonder why this hasn't already been applied to cricket shoes? It seems like an opportunity to cover a niche market.
