Title: Do you think this will hold? Bat repair
Post by: sarg on May 14, 2014, 12:05:48 PM
Do you think the glue and facing is enough for this type of repair? Three months until first practice so the facing will bond set well. I also used a hair dryer to mould the tape and set the gum.

The repair looks to be a decent job but you can never be certain how long a repair will last.

I wound also wind tape around the bat.

Didn't want to spoil the clean look, so I used some clear helicopter facing cut lengthwise as a strip to add more strength. Can't show you the back but it wraps over itself and I have used a few drops of plastics superglue to secure the corners of the tape.

Looks like a good job, if it comes off again just repeat the repair. I would be tempted to wrap a few strips of tale around it.
