So, my b3 butterfly arrived in the post.
I saw the forum price/offer, and decided I was interested, but as I know the b3 lot well, I contacted streaky to see if it was possible to have one made up but rather than the set profiles said in the thread dave set up, I wanted it made in my profile that I had designed for my match bat,
But I wanted it a few lb lighter to use while I am recovering from my ruptured spleen.
Streaky selected the cleft so the profile would make a lighter bat(there may have been tweaks to the profile judge yourself,
Bat took about 3 weeks to arrive, I'm not really playing, so was in no rush. Andy as kept upto date well on it progress.
Had a few issues trying to get decent pics of the new stickers to decide on that front, and on arrival one not keen on my choice, but a change of grip colour should sort that out,
The bat.
Smiley profile weighing 2.14. Created for mainly front foot play, low middle, very very slight concaved(most would say non)

On pressings with the bat, it's a tad more bottom heavy than expected, this may be due to the butterfly stains weight, but I believe a second grip will sort this out.
The sound with a ball is bizzarre, it does not sound like any bat I've heard before, yet, the ball and mallet doe come of the blade like any other b3 I have which I am mightily impressed with.
Need to knock it in and then get it in a net so shall update on that.
The butterfly stains are more prominent on the back, and the one on the front is high on the blade, and it has a decent grain count which I like, so overly not too ugly IMO,
Here it is next to my 3stripe match bat, match bat is 3.2

Overall I am highly impressed, another great bat from b3 to add to my collection.

-
Looks good mate. But I was told that I have to select from the given profiles and cannot customize it :(
Hope mine will be ready soon.

GM>B3 IMO
What is your reasoning? have you tried both brands?
-
Googly = bold statement - any reasoning - any points to back up statement = <sensible post
-
What is your reasoning? have you tried both brands?
Quite. Both companies are linked by using CNC machines and have premises in Nottingham but are poles apart in terms of heritage and operational scale.

GM>B3 IMO
Interesting but what are we saying my employer is GM or we are similar ???
We have the man who designed most of there shapes who is a director and willow technician I guess the scale i cant argue with we are only a year and a half old.
Now our growth as a brand well, that is the real question..

Kal you have to understand Chris is a personal friend of Streaky's so this is why he got his in.
His was not a forum offer either mate his cleft was selected before the offer went live.
All the bats ordered i will be doing a production check on in the morning and will report back to you, Sorry i have been away all week playing..
-
I can see why it would be a little more bottom heavy... It looks slightly thicker at the toe than your other bat. Nice looking stick but if I was to get a butterfly I'd like the stain you have on the back to be on the front... Just my taste.
Nice looking profile though

Toe looks thicker as the match bat has a big compression indent from where I drove a yorker, 2nd grip has made a big difference though.
Looking forward to the knocking in,

Glad you are happy pal!
Simon and Phil's bats will be out today and with you tomorrow, so you should have more pictures to look through soon....

Started to knock this in this afters, the mallet is pinging off it despite the strange sound.
This has the potential to outgunn my 3 stripe, which I thought was not possible!
Fad or not, butterfly should not be overlooked.
-
Butterfly is the new grade 1+ Ha
Hope my B3 butterfly turns out to be the same.
-
I have seen all 3 of the butterfly ordered today finished and ready to go
-
Good - now get the next clefts in!!!!!!
-
Clefts new batch due in tomorrow
-
Phwooooaaaarrrr!!!
-
Right. This is knocked in and was taken to tonights game not all went well though.
The ping, well it was pretty impressive. There was some serious hangtime on the catch that got me a golden duckm first ball off the game.
Only tried to stroke it through covers. It stopped in pitch and i skied it. Nearly ran two waiting for it to come down.
handed it around before the game though, let people have a hit and there seemed some seriously impressed punters.
I believe i have one sale already!!
