Title: off-spin / doosra ... how does this guy do it?
Post by: brokenbat on May 23, 2014, 03:17:36 PM
a lot of chat about ajmal's action.. BUT, have a look at his grip ! i can't quite figure out what he's doing here. how is he holding the ball?? the fourth and fifth fingers are not near the seam, and it almost looks like the middle finger is the one imparting the spin?

He does it by chucking it... We've already assessed that bit!

that looks like the off spinner, it's probably a slightly different grip for the doosra

plenty of videos on youtube showing how to bowl it

to be clear, I was more intrigued about getting revs on the ball and its obvious that this grip puts a lot of pressure on his turning finger. I've been playing around with it, and when you get it right, you can hear the ball fizz out of your hands.
