Well with no cricket due to wet weather i thought i would share my profiles of my bats i currently have, I have recently gone for less concaving but still like a lighter weight bat bar the beast i have here and i have my butterfly out on loan (it had better return)
Most are simple profile sorry if this bores you but might as well have a bat topic...
Main Bat
2LB 8.3oz
(http://i62.tinypic.com/30w2q69.jpg)
This bat was a sample of a shape great bat great pick scored 50 odd last week and 20 not out chasing 48 last week a great bat..
The pretender (My Imposer)
2lb 9.2oz
(http://i60.tinypic.com/1q04dd.jpg)
This is my new bat not been used, Not convinced yet taps well but because it is bigger or different from what i call normal to me not quite sure..
The 1271
2lb 7.2oz
(http://i59.tinypic.com/2nq8v2v.jpg)
My best bat possibly ever over 1500 runs last season was fixed post season not sure why but i have not used it this year maybe it is on it's last legs great profile..
The Sample
2lb 9.5oz
(http://i58.tinypic.com/fn5kci.jpg)
Given to me last week by my Boss to test out it is a sample from a white label brand who are now extinct, Decent profile feels nice not convinced with pick up but ok. Taps up like a beast..
Sample 2
2lb 5.6oz
(http://i61.tinypic.com/263u92o.jpg)
This is not strictly mine but it could be it is a 2nd factory model a team mate of mine requested but it is big and i love it pick up is insane and taps like the clangers similar profile to my match bat.
Pick up is great as you see i get bats on feel and this is a surprise the weight difference in some.
I have my butterfly which is different and heavier and the beast a 3-2oz Juggernaut which i scored a 100 against a very modest attack recently but i can't wheild it on a quick deck.
I'm no bat collector like others i use bats to play with plain and simple.
Just found a picture of my butterfly my mate has nicked
2lb 9.8oz

Great great bat my bloody bat i want it back!!!!!

Bat Sample 2 is a stunning shape!
Nice bats bud!
-
How we use then that matters mate i find my collection of a few changes people keep buying my bats but these have remained and some will never leave me like the 1271 even though it is nearly finished. Quite plain profile's i think.
The 1271 changed my thoughts on bats that and Streaky.

does sample 2 have a number on the handle ?
-
No mate it was fitted buta new handle was fitted and they are testing doweling methods so i got it but i could find out for you mate.
-
Lovely collection Dave :)
Thanks mate they do the job nothing like some collections just the tools of my trade and i love batting.
Not picky on looks or anything just the feel with gloves on i can always tell thats why my new one might not last long not sure on it yet...

Love this profile and got this for my butterfly. Also liked the profile of bat 2.Nice collection Dave.

The green sample looks very similar to Ahmad Shahzad profile which I given earlier.
-
To me, on most of these it looks like the handle position is producing a bow, rather than shaping the blade. Not everyone's preference, but it is mine. Very nice looking bats.
-
How did you get a 1271 that light!!?? I want one!!
-
Because it is really a crown and was one of the players bats he rejected and I had 2 oz taking out of it.

That lime green profile picks up and plays beautifully. It's not a profile I would ever have chosen, but I coulndn't put it down when we tested a few bats.
Just goes to show how we must rid ourselves of our pre-conceptions.
