They look like nice bats but i'd be wary as mars is one of the only places that sells stickers to anyone

He's already sold a few, the stickers seem to be different on every bat!

From everything I've heard about Mars I'd steer clear... price seems far too good to be true too, anyone would struggle to even import an actual Grade 1 for £90, let alone make a profit on it too (Guessing they're Indian made that is).

I have no opinion on Mars but a lad I teach has been approached to be sponsored by MC this season.

TBH they are the only company that will give him equipment for free (He was a County 2nd XI player/England U19 @ 16 last season) even though he is a bowler.

His words are 'They are as good as 90% of bats out there. The other 10% want me to pay £200-£300 a bat'.

The players looks good through. I'd have a punt at £70 if I was in the market.

The font used for 'Caliber' really offends my eyes.

Don't blame him for taking the deal, I'm sure he'll be a great player in the future and will have offers coming out of his ears at that point. You have to question what Mars would get out of giving free kit to someone who will have minimal exposure at the moment though (Especially a bowler) - we all know what happens when the big boys come in for a player, Mars could sponsor the lad from 16-21 with free kit every year but once Kook/GM etc come knocking I imagine it'd be hard to turn down for your lad, however much someone like Mars would've helped in the past.

Good on him though, hopefully you're coaching a future star!!

Pakistani made based on a few google searches.

Doesn't mean they are bad sticks, but it certainly explains why they are being sold so cheap.

They look as good willow wise as anything in the shops, £90 is a steal, buy both for half the money you'd spend on a celeb endorsed Indian made shop bat.

Coaching?! - It basically involves us talking about the academy/county scene. Don't think I have much to add from the day to day coaching he gets from his coaches/peers. Oh and the fact he is 6ft6 and built like a shed does seem to help him...

Best thing about him is that he's a fantastic lad.

He was clocked at the end of last season playing against SL U19 at 85.6mph - Think they see him as a serious prospect.

I think you are right. Who would turn down free kit from GM/GN etc. TBH, don't think he is too far away from that level.

Certainly explains it, not saying they're bad sticks just seemed very cheap when the RRP on their website is £250!

Didn't realise, no intent to offend - thought you were coaching him to some extent haha!!

Sounds like he's certainly one to keep an eye on, we all know how much England could do with a good 90mph+ bowler

Haha. I am the 'Director of Cricket' but I do not dare mess around with the biomechanical stuff his county are doing with him. I speak to him more about the mental side. More of a mentor for him to bounce ideas off I guess.

As I said, he has all the natural attributes, but 17-21 is such an important time. I hope for him he keeps developing.

I saw kami the other day, Lal got a bat of him dan. They're not real MC's they're stickered up from when he was sponsored and the one he sold Lal doesn't have an edge stamp like MC's do mate

If he is getting free Mars Cricket bats then £90 is probably understandable

They're defo Pakistani. Had a nice chat with the owner a month or so ago who was at our game. He's got a son turning out for Middlesex Second XI plus a younger son he'd come out to watch trying to perfect playing spin on Pakistani tracks. They seem a serious cricket family and apparently take pride in the business side of things. Some of the better lads at top clubs in Pak are using MC sticks. Decent from what I've seen so no reason why the ones sold in England wouldn't be better. Not sure about this easy sticker availability biz though.
