One of, if not the earliest Salix bat produced i believe?
-
Is that in for a refurb or is that from your personal collection?
-
Was bought in by a customer today for a new grip. They have kindly left it here for me to take a few photos.
-

One of our guys has got a Zenith which I think is a slightly earlier model - still in use and going well - another big unit - (erm, does that make me a nerd?) :o
-
Is it just the pic or does it have a slight scoop near the toe on the back side?
How much does it weigh?
-
Feel free to send it to me Jake, and I will change the grip and also put a new scuff sheet on
after I have had a damn good few nets with it whilst I'm at it! ;)
-
It weighs 2'10.
The toe area has been flattened off, it's not really a scoop, not really a duck bill either, just looks like its been sanded flat rather than following the contours of the spine.
I want to have a little hit with it, but not sure i could face the chap if it broke!
To my knowledge the Royal and 3 other models that escape me were the first Salix branded bats produced by Kember & his team. Zenith was a brand who's bats were produced by the Salix team I think? Perhaps wrong.
-
He's looked after it. When would have that bat been made? Certainly an advertisement for using a facing.
-
1991/2 I believe.
-
I had a chat with Andrew last weekend and he said there were 4 variants released at the same time anyone care to go for the full list??

I'll check next time I see the guy, it does have salix stickers on it though, and the handle is the thickest I've ever seen - like a pickaxe! I'll try to get pics too.
