Playing there tomorrow in the national knock out.
-
good luck mate know a few lads who play for them, decent set up and some very good players.
-
some superb players to be fair and a nice location. shame about the umpiring; that, and one of our lads winding them up, took the chance of a win away from us.
their opener scored an excellent 109, but it would have been a different game if he had been given plum lbw on 55. similarly roger sillence scored a very composed 85* which would have been a lot less had he been given stumped on 11 with his back foot so far in the air he nearly fell over. both the same umpire.
still, we have too many competitions on the go at the moment so it's probably a blessing in disguise

I know a fair few of their players (go on tour with them), and see that Steve Snell (ex Glos keeper) got a hundred. It is a really nice ground and they are doing a lot of work on the pavillion/changing rooms etc....

Yeah Steve Snell batted superbly, regardless of the lbw decision when he was on 55 (which he and i both thought was out).
We were missing 4 from our normal 1st team (opening bowler, opening bat, #3 bat and wk) and that was the difference really. their senior players really turned up.
the lad that batted 5, Ralph something? came in and absolutely smashed it - 58 off 23 i think. some of the cleanest striking of the ball i've seen at club level.
-
Ralph Hardwick, certainly hits the ball hes youth coach for Gloucester i think as well so gets plenty of practice!

Thats the one - struggles to get in their 1st team on a saturday on a regular basis...

Yeah that's him. He definitely benefited from a flat deck and some average deliveries but every shot hit the middle of the bat and his cameo made the difference really. without his 58 on the board we would have run them very close.
