Any idea how good are SG Test/VS319 pads in terms of protection ? I have a friend who is currently in India and I was planning on asking him to get me a pair of SG pads to save some money on shipping.
Currently, I have a pair of SG Litevate (probably youth size) pads which I bought in India a couple of years back and they suck big time. This pair has little protection around the shin. Once I missed full toss in the nets and it did hurt. So I reinforced the it by putting a piece of LDPE foam used in a packaging inside It does the job well, since then the pads started twisting around my legs when I run. I am not 100% sure if the youth/small mens sized Indian pads have lesser protection than the regular men's pads.
Thanks in advance!

Recently bought SG Maxilite-Xl Pads good protection, 2 straps and very light weight, definitely worth the money.

SG test and VS319 would give much better protection than your current ones. The test range used to be their most popular and best back in the day.

Try the SG Hilite range they are very good and offer good protection.

I am not a big fan of the fact that Maxilite has only two straps. Now, is the SG Hilite range superior in terms of protection than the SG Test/VS319 range ? In terms of looks they all look the same.

The reason I like Hilite better is because they are not ambi and because of that they provide a bit better protection for back of the leg than ambi pads.
I own a set of maxilite and they offer great protection, just hate it that they are not moulded.
I am around 5'7" and find maxilite to be a bit big and wide at the top for me.

Test would give more protection than Hilite as they have cane pads whereas Hilite doesn't. But Hilite will be lighter and will offer enough protection. So its all down to your personal preference.

I am 5'7" as well. This pretty much cancels Maxilite out.

Thanks for the explanation! I have decided to go for the SG Test pads.
