Who makes a better bat?? I really like the Krakatoa profile..
Is there a big difference in their soft goods?
-
newbery
-
i prefer newbery from the very few bats i have picked up
-
Some Salix's are made in india, then finished in England.
-
Do you know where the Grade One Fera is made??
-
I dont, I'm sure there will be someone hear he will.
-
i think their softs are really similar, i can hardly choose between.
-
Prefer Salix softs for quality of design and finish. Their stickers are better too.
Bats haven't really tried many Salix's but on the shelf there seems to be little between them.
-
wouldnt have said much difference between the two at all, personal preference. i prefer the salix softs but with a newbery bat. the only salix bats made in india are the new junior kashmir range. the rest are still all made in england.
-
Really????? I thought the majority were still made in India and he finished them in England.
-
i was told they were all completely handmade in engalnd except for the new kashmir ones but i was probably told some porkies or the information was lost in translation between them and my thick skull.
-
anyone here work at Salix or have connections at Salix?? Can anyone get a deal on Salix??
-
I no quite a few people sponsored by them they all rave about the gear.
-
Salix softs are the best. I bought a pair of Pod 1 Grade 1 Batting gloves last season and they are the best I have ever had. The Pod pads are also quality.
I like the finish on their bats but not much to choose between the profiles. Hence will go with Newbery for the bats.
I have heard a lot of people say that a Performance grade bat from Salix is as good as any G1 bat from any other bat maker.
In a nut shell - Salix is like the Rolls Royce of bats and Newbery like a Mercedes AMG63 or a Bentley.
-
I prefer the shape of salixs, and they tend to have a better finish from what ive seen.
-
Well if you are asking who makes better bats - the answer is always Tim at newbery and I'm sure Andrew Kember wouldnt disagree with this statement. With regards to softs, this year salix have the edge but last year i would have said newbery were better.......it's all very subjective with regards to softs.
-
Have salix changed their softs much as i think last years looked great?
As for bats i think newbery will generally make a better bat.
-
salix have made minor adjustments to most of their softs, but nothing drastic. continuing with the pod black and have introduced the pod red gloves. it all looks top notch.
-
I think red would look better if they do it right, if they have a too pale/garish red it could look very tacky
-
Red palms on the gloves sounds good.
Would be interesting to hear who you guys think press their bats better?
-
newbery hands down every single day of the week!
-
Ahh I'm getting even more confused.. From reading all the posts so far, Newbery has a better bat maker and press their bats better yet Salix is better ???
I'm looking at either Fera Grade One or a Krakatoa SPS around the 2.8-2.9 range.. Which would you chose?
-
id have the newbery, my gt sps was incredible
-
Newbery's make better bats, Salix make better softs
-
im pretty sure neither company make there own softs
-
im pretty sure neither company make there own softs
I think the soft goods are made by SS for both. If you see on the SS website you will see many similarities between their softs and those supplied to and sold by Newbery and Salix.
-
thats what i thought
-
the build quality of their softs are identical really. the design quality is what differentiates them. salix are winning.
CD0070 - get a krakatoa sps!
-
So, Salix soft and Newbery bat??
Salix stickers are so class..
-
SPS Krakatoa
SPS Camouflage Gloves
SPS Camouflage Pads
I'm getting excited..
Now does any1 want to make any donations so I can make this purchase?? ;D
-
iv got some sps pads and gloves, just plain white without the camo that are going for 50 posted for the set
-
No thanks.. Looking for new.. How did you like them though??
-
there awsome mate, spot on
-
Newbery every time!
-
I would say Newbery from experience (my fav bat of all time was my Newbery Cobra), but I am due to take delivery of a Pod One Grade One in a couple of weeks and will be getting a B52 in the new year...........so I will knock em both in and net with them, then I will write up a propper review of both sticks!
