Title: More club thefts
Post by: TangoWhiskey on June 20, 2014, 10:33:31 PM
My Mother, the saint she is just sent me this from my home of Norfolk.

It seems bats are being targeted too now, be careful if you see any of this stuff on eBay...

We had a Newbery TT SPS go missing from our club yesterday. Makes me sick to think people will steal others hard earned possessions!

Hey even though I'm not over there anymore I thought I would let you all know that via the clubs facebook page there was a bloke checking out cars parked at The Mote CC, Maidstone, KENT during a game the other weekend and I believe some items went missing. So anyone playing in Kent keep an eye out!

We are in Kent too and there has been a few instances of this sort of stuff happening. Our 2a had their valuables bag stolen two weeks ago only for it to turn up in a bush about 3 miles away from our ground. A woman saw it when she was walking her dog but weirdly nothing at all was stolen. Almost like someone did it for a laugh

I used to walk past this ground to and from school when I was between 5 and 10. It's next to the Doctors surgery if I recall.

We got an email from the Surrey League warning us about thefts from a couple of clubs, with someone posing as a new player, or being around on match days apparently with a knowledge of the target clubs and their players, and then pilfering a few bits and pieces of value. One of my team mates bats was stolen the other day, it had been in the changing room during the colts trainings and a match on the morning after a match, and the parent of the team playing put the bat and bag, along with 3 other bags left by seniors, in our store cupboard, but by the Monday evening it had gone. Still hasn't been found and it went AWOL about a month ago.

We caught a guy in our changing room last year, reckoned he was looking for the kitchen as it was his first day as a trainee chef! He was pointed out that we are a cricket club and not the Hilton, our skipper escorted him to the exit. He's not been back ;)

Not sure if this has been posted.  I've personally been lucky over the years but there's been various thefts from games I've played in over the years but nothing like this.
