Title: Setting Up a Junior Section
Post by: nudgemaster on June 22, 2014, 01:28:25 PM
Hi All

I am just wondering if anyone has any experience of setting up a Junior section.

We currently have 2 teams running on a Saturday and a midweek team.

I personally feel that the way forward would be with a 5 year plan and start out next season with a under 9s team, this sounds the easiest option. Get them in young and retain them.

However I know this will not help the adult teams for a number of years. Personally I feel that if we started 11s or 13s of which we currently have none, these players will mostly have other clubs?

Does anyone have any tips and how easy is it to get into schools??

apply to your local county club, they will have the means to help, there will be a few hoops to jump through, but it will be worth it.

getting kids to come won't be hard, parents always need childcare!!
