Title: Two new sticks
Post by: Stayjohnson on June 24, 2014, 08:48:38 AM
SF Sapphire and SS Gold LE.

Low middled, 2.9 Sapphire, 7 straight grains, the odd blemish but none on the face. Very little concaving. Great pick up.

Gold LE is typical SS, club of a bat (for 2.9), full back with no concaving (no idea how it's a 2.9), a few more grains than the Sapphire. Pick up is great, feels slightly better balanced than the Sapphire.

Will post edge and spine sizes later.

Both have half spiral grips under the factory fitteds, and are currently getting a bat wax, before hammer edge is applied.

Will post photos when I have time. Both look like great bits of wood.

Nice video. Need that psycho shower scene scream as you raise the mallet.

Haha, yeah. Although, I'd be better off editing in some groans, I always think bats love a little knocking in. Like an executive massage. Little wax, little rub and some deep tissue work. I've give them both two hours each with an old ball, on the edges and toe. Just started with the mallet. The sapphire might need a couple rings of grip at the top I've decided, adding a little counterweight. Other than that, he'll get a hammer edge and a few buckets on the bowling machine.

Really happy with both of these. Will get some profile pics up soon.
