Just a post to say if your in cornwall on july 13th sunday, get down to fistral for the beach cricket tournament that the lords taverners have got involved with alongside newquay cricket club. the tavs are putting two teams in not sure whos playing yet and how many cricketers but it will be fun none the less. If any of you are there please say hello i am sure you will find me having a beer with friends at some point. hopefully it will become an annual event raising lots of money for charities.

I played on Fistral Beach as part of "UK Beach Sports Championship" in about 2011 and 2012. We played on part of the beach that was heavily effected by the tide and I think cricket wasn't very high on their list in regards of importance. I think we only managed 2/3 games in each year. I did, however, take a hat trick which made it all worthwhile.

Yes the tides are a problem, water cricket maybe? I think they seem to have it organised pretty well but all in all it will be a good day I reckon

If I get time between now and then I will get some bats made up to take down and do some special prices for anyone who comes and is interested you can have a look through and see what is good for you.
-
I will see you there if you're bringing some bats down to my town Mr. Aldred!

Also, with respect to the tide, they should make some kind of game out of it if it's high.
High catch competition whilst running into the sea or something would be cool.

Surf board cricket or catching :D
-
Surfboard cricket could be interesting! Or stand up paddle board. Should be good fun.
-
I'll be there, it's about 15 minutes from me so would be rude not to!
-
May get some free surf lessons from all you locals ;)
-
I can definitely teach you how not to surf.
-
I've already taught myself how not to surf

'Remember, If you're not drowning, you're doing well!' - the advice I receive from my mrs regularly.

Hmmmm that's sometimes debatable :D
