Title: Ball Quality

I was searching for some good quality match practice balls. In many posts people have recommended Tiflex magna but they are little over budget. Do we really need pricey balls for practice ?

How are these balls , just need to be sure they are not bat breakers,

Post by: Chad on June 30, 2014, 11:18:26 PM: From my experience, I would avoid all Slazenger balls. All of the ones I've seen are rocks. (Don't think I've seen a Test one though) I would spend a little extra on the Magna, as I find it retains its shape and hardness better than the Readers ones. You could try some Shamrock ones, which are good value, but again, I feel the Tiflex Magna ones are better for the same reason. :)

my club are currently using these for 20 over games and also nets they last well enough. i haven't tried the tiflex alot of people seem to like them

So most of you think Tiflex is better one, but what about the Readers County Supreme, will it be any good.

The description( 5 layered cork outer + 4 ply wool core , > 75 - 80 stitches ) sounds far too good for the offered price. A friend is ready to offer these for even less ;) So tempting at that price ....

Dukes and kook are good but they are pricey. Looking something around 10 pounds.

The 'Club' ones sounded reasonably priced and look good quality compared to the 'rubbish' you get in Sports Direct/Big Sport Shops etc... Better if you buy in bulk and hopefully someone on the forum can comment having used them. Unfortunately, I opted for a couple of Slazengers from JJB or somewhere like their Sale and have managed to get by as I'm not a top order bowler in nets.

He responds very quickly too...

Post by: frooper11 on July 01, 2014, 09:58:51 AM: We've used the Tiflex balls for the last 3 seasons in our Sunday League 35 over stuff, the St James or the Oxbridge can be bought for a tenner (ish) and they last for 70 overs (can't afford to change balls).

They do keep their shape well providing they don't disappear into the housing estate.
