Hi,
I was searching for some good quality match practice balls. In many posts people have recommended Tiflex magna but they are little over budget. Do we really need pricey balls for practice ?
How are these balls , just need to be sure they are not bat breakers,

Are Tiflex good at the offered price ?
Tiflex Magna ( 11.25 pounds ) currently offering a discount of 10 % ( so original 12.50 price) http://www.tiflex-online-shop.co.uk/index.php/ox-cricket (http://www.tiflex-online-shop.co.uk/index.php/ox-cricket)

Them readers ones are ok

I'd go for Tiflex Magna http://184.154.5.91/cbforum/index.php?topic=24106.msg383893#msg383893 (http://184.154.5.91/cbforum/index.php?topic=24106.msg383893#msg383893)

From my experience, I would avoid all Slazenger balls. All of the ones I've seen are rocks. (Don't think I've seen a Test one though) I would spend a little extra on the Magna, as I find it retains its shape and hardness better than the Readers ones. You could try some Shamrock ones, which are good value, but again, I feel the Tiflex Magna ones are better for the same reason. :)

my club are currently using these for 20 over games and also nets they last well enough. i haven't tried the tiflex alot of people seem to like them

Overall Tiflex is good but the price is a factor as our Club is on a tight budget this year. I was thinking a balance between price and quality. Just looking for balls which are not bat breakers.
So most of you think Tiflex is better one, but what about the Readers County Supreme, will it be any good.

I've always tried to use Dukes mid-priced balls. Found them to be good for the bowlers...

We used the woodworm white balls for training and well as the Supreme County and they and they held up for about 2 sessions and then they went soft quickly

Anyone used the the specific Slazenger Test ball ? The description( 5 layered cork outer + 4 ply wool core , > 75 - 80 stitches ) sounds far too good for the offered price. A friend is ready to offer these for even less ;) So tempting at that price ....

Slaz match balls are utter rubbish, so these test ones can't be anything special. Just go with readers or magna ones mentioned in this thread.

How about SG Test compared to Tiflex Magna? Kouservice and I play for the same club and we are looking at different options...best price to quality?

I'll say it again - Dukes Special Crown - £15.99 each. Fabulous balls...

Fabulous balls...
Ive heard that before somewhere... :D

We use Dukes Ambassador balls, they are great. Stay hard for ages.

Dukes and kook are good but they are pricey. Looking something around 10 pounds.

Just by a Slazenger and give it ago.

Try Shamrock Cricket and the following link...

The 'Club' ones sounded reasonably priced and look good quality compared to the 'rubbish' you get in Sports Direct/Big Sport Shops etc... Better if you buy in bulk and hopefully someone on the forum can comment having used them. Unfortunately, I opted for a couple of Slazengers from JJB or somewhere like their Sale and have managed to get by as I'm not a top order bowler in nets.
He responds very quickly too...

We've used the Tiflex balls for the last 3 seasons in our Sunday League 35 over stuff, the St James or the Oxbridge can be bought for a tenner (ish) and they last for 70 overs (can't afford to change balls).
They do keep their shape well providing they don't disappear into the housing estate.

Tiflex all the way, great balls and do a bit which as a keeper can be a pain but get more edges which is good for the team...
