Title: Pro bas - Toe Feathering
Post by: patriotscreen on July 02, 2014, 06:45:24 PM
This is a bit of an odd one but watching the cricket this summer I have noticed alot if not all pro players have what looks to be highly 'feathered' toes.

What I mean is that when they hold up the bat the toes seem to protrude ever so slightly and look to be feathered and usually slightly darker than normal.

It can't be from excessive moisture as pro's don't use wet wickets, so what is it? This pic kind of shows what i'm on about.

toe guard falls off early, and they never bother putting in a new one. so bat tapping and sliding in the bat while running would do the rest.

Bats look brand new though yet still have it? And it's uniform across the entire toe, if it was from tapping it would be slightly patchy.

Most don't have toe guard as they use bat for crease lines et cetra.
