Title: SS TON new profile
Post by: mp07 on July 03, 2014, 04:01:21 PM
Seems like SS is going with new profile for their high end bat, much fuller profile.

Whatever they are they're imported to be sold here as they're SS branded instead of TON.

At that price I'd hazard a guess at mid range in a players shape (if it's too good to be true & all that) but someone more knowledgable about Sunridges than myself may tell you otherwise.

That style of picture (numbers on bats, background etc.) seem familiar.

Seller only has 3 feedback, anyone know is dkpsports is batman on a new account??

Do you know how much the top of the range would cost from meerut in GBP

Would love to hear asad take on this
Could anyone make that happen?
I might head  down to uzi sports n pick myself up a salix
For pure longevity with performance gm or salix or newbery  or anymore ?
What I mean who presses their bats the best ?
For the past couple of seasons been buying a bat every season. ..wish one would last me atleast 3 seasons

One of my club mate just bought this new SS Ton bat, absolutely beast...will try to get actual pictures of his bat.
Only thing I was little disappointed about is the pickup and all of them comes in round handle, but ping makes up for it.

I used to have GM luna 909 and just bought my first Newbery,  between these two I would go for Newbery ANY given day.

SS TON  have two bats which you can call top of the range...

1. TON reserve edition

2. SS gladiator

I am not so sure about meerut, but in delhi they cost somewhere around 210 gbp....

And these limited edition bats are their mid range bats, these can be bought for 90-100 gbp in delhi....

They are really nice bats for their price...one of my mates has it and loves it to the core

Its around the same in Mumbai, i just picked up the new profile Gladiator and TON Players edition a week ago.

Not much choice though due to rains and soccer season going on now.

Btw there is a difference between what is released in the local Indian market versus the export markets.  The quality difference is apparent.

I really liked the pickup on ss le I bought from batman last year. His prices have gone up and I am not too sure about the whole player profile thing. Perhaps Himanshu can confirm if SS do kohli profile in India.

It's just a fuller profile limited edition.  SS will do it for retailers on request.  The UK gladiator,  max pro etc will have this profile.  Both Jake and asad have these.

If you look at his profile. It is very close to a fuller limited edition.  Just like sangas looks like a full gladiator, as does murli vijay. Bopara has a full profile max power etc.  I have seen all three in person,  lovely bats

SS/TON till recently kept themselves to their traditional shape with huge concaving, but since jan 2014, i have seen many bats with fuller profile, and what do you call kohli's profile....

now i will call this a new typical ss profile these days, many of the bats you will see will be of these profile only....

i think i will have to disagree with you on this.....i have never seen a bad ss/ton, in any range...and i have used g3 to g1's.....every bat has been special......the only difference between ss in india and ss overseas is the difference in price, thats it......

i have seen a few UK TON max powers on this forum, and trust me they are a bit down side when i compare to what i have seen here in india....and it does costs less then half in india....

Cheers Himanshu what I wanted to know was if SS are marketing the fuller profiles as Kohli or is it just a thing some sellers are doing to boost sake. For example SS have a KP model and Spartan do several player models but do SS actually call one of their shapes Kohli.

Agreed you can get a fuller profile in India.  You can even get export market bats from the right retailers.  But do have a chat with the retailers and SS about the difference.  Quoting price differentials is a bit meaningless,  but I am glad you paid only 120 for that bat.

I got a bat direct from SS facotry which is the virat kohli profile. I told them to make me their top range bat and they told me they can make me a player profile which is their top grade bat along with reserve edition. They said the make virat kohli bats and I got one just like they make for him. Have done a review on here.

Agree. SS Bats in India are the same, if not superior, to the ones exported to the Goras who pay through the nose.

All three of my SS bats are special. All acquired from India.

Vic love your SS mate, but those bats were destined to be exported.  That's a plus point for OLS to get ahold of them.  Ask him if he sells locally in India and I think you'll see he'll say no.  I have asked him before to ship stuff to a friend who was in India  and he told me he can't ship anything within India.  Some people on his Facebook complain of the same issue.

Only one of them was purchased through OLS (the most recent LE), the other two (the older model LE and the Gladiator) were purchased in shops in India (one in Delhi and one in Punjab), so, as far as I can see, the quality for home consumption is the same as that for OS customers.

I feel Indian (and Pakistani) companies are unfairly maligned on these forums by those who have never used their bats.

All the pros are using them - even when stickered up with their own sponsors logos, so they must be some good?

I can't speak for others but I have a SS heritage which bought from OSL and the finishing on that bat is very disappointing compared to another SS Heritage our skipper bought in UK.

So in my experience there is a clear difference in quality .

I don't see that the indian or Pak bats are in anyway maligned on here, I think that is a bit of a myth.

SS/TON bats are usually lusted after and the MSR bats and CA pats are typically excellent.

Personally I would love one of the pro sareen bats!!

Other than the "it'll be over dried" comments I don't think there's too much of this.

My dad's CA T20 is a gun (and a few seasons old) so they're decent and last in my experience.

I'd love a Ton bat without any stickers (still with the stamps though). They're decent bats and that looks proper smart.
