Post by: mp07 on July 03, 2014, 06:24:50 PM
Is it true that Kookaburra outsource their bat manufacturing to SG?  I am def. not surprised with their softs...

Yes, they do. Some of the kookaburra/SG bat shapes also resemble each other.

Jason from CricketStoreOnline mentioned it.

Kookaburra kahuna T20 cricket bat, or is it a SG stud T11i bat?? who knows... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6EksuVpFoE#ws)

SG is kookaburra in India I think. That's why you don't see them with kookaburra stickers on their bats.

That is very disappointing, now days its all about profit margin and paying for big sponsor players

Looks like the cost of the sg softs are a lot cheaper than the kook  :o

I went to India last year with work and picked up to sets of SG gear.

There are distinct design differences with the softs, but bats are very similar.
Having had a look at a Kookaburra Viper in GCCC yesterday, it's profile is close to identical to my SG RSD Elite.

Haven't used a Kookaburra so couldn't tell you con the comparison of the timber.
