Title: New Balance boots
Post by: BigBlueMachine on July 08, 2014, 02:33:49 AM
I have the opportunity to get my self a pair of New Balance boots at half price. If I do decide to get them it'd be the 4030. I will be getting them online however, so won't be able to try them on. Just wondering if anybody has tried them. I've watched the IJC YouTube review and look good. Also they have a strange sizing options. You can specify the width, either D, 2E or 4E. Anybody know the difference?

At a guess id say D=Narrow.2E=Regular.4E=Wide?????????????  Id love more brands to do this as I have really wide feet and struggle in a lot of footwear. My Adidas sl22s are taking a long time for me to break in.

I', in a similar situation with the green boots which have sold out in my size (10) on SD but do have a 9. I'm usually somewhere between a 9 and 10 and tempted to take the plunge on the 9. I've currently got the blue NB spikes in a 10 and they are a decent fit and feel quite tight to start with but have certainly loosened up. Where are you getting them from?

I'm getting them from the New Balance website. I've got a voucher for 50% off.

How do you find the weight of the blue boots?

Decent, ive got the no spiked one too and they are very comfy. Feel very sturdy and solid without being too heavy or cumbersome

Cheers for the info. Might have to make these my next purchase. I would prefer the Nike or Adidas but at 50% off I can't complain.

Honestly, I would never go near new balance again. The trainer quality is awful, they disintegrated after 4 months! An dI mean proper disintegrated too! Make sure you read the reviews before purchasing!

There were quite a few warranty issues with them here, quite often is in a new boot on the market. I have been told it's been rectified.

My nb trainers last as long as my Nikes do.

If you had a few pairs that died fair enough. But you can't really judge quality on one pair.

You can when they refuse to do anything about the problems I had. Poor customer service = Poor customer satisfaction!

I love the look of the New Balance gear, but I'm too tight to buy any of it!

The new lower cut boot looks good this season, I like red as well.

Good point. No excuse for poor customer service.

I often find the poorer the customers behaviour the poorer the customer service.

Mate, if you ring up a manufacturer and politely say that you bought a pair of trainers 4 months ago, and they have fallen apart, only  be told in no uncertain terms 'you must have bought the wrong size, its your own fault' then that, to me is poor customer service... Not 'are you sure they were the right size?' have you had your feet measured to ensure that they were the right size etc.

Considering the date you posted, you may have already bought these, but I picked up a pair earlier in the year.
I got 4030s in 2e, regular fit, as batting shoes which I've been very happy with. I've found them a very slightly larger fit to my Asics 180no shoes that I bowl in. This could be due to the bit of extra cusioning of the 180no.
The 4030 are aimed at batting allrounder, so if you're replacing same for same, fit should be right on.

As for quality, I've been really happy. Used them for half a season, with plenty of time in the middle.

I'll be going to the 4040s as my bowling shoes when they need replacement.

D is regular
2E is wide
4E is wider again.
