Looking at the Zombie thread - I thought it would be good to run a little thread to see what you guys think are the best ever bat names
PLEASE INCLUDE WHY YOU LIKE THE NAME!!!!!
For me - "The Wand" and "the purist" are two of my favourites - mainly because of who used them - but also because they say what the bat is for.
Same for the warsop scimitar - here is a massive sword for you to smash the bowling with
-
I kinda liked the Gray Nicolls Ultimate - partly for the Robin Smith connection, but also the sentiment.
-
I liked the Newbery mythical names - Mjolnir: "Then he gave the hammer to Thor, and said that Thor might smite as hard as he desired, whatsoever might be before him, and the hammer would not fail" - Fantastic name for a cricket bat.
I also think that the GN Nemesis is a great name - tells you exactly what it is supposed to be!
And also, GM Maestro, again an insight into what you are supposedly getting.
-
Bosom Bats Platinum Blonde
I like it because of the branding and that it's a witty way of incorporating the logo with the grading.
Also like the GM Purist (not then new one!) - a stroke makers bat with a proper name.
The Powerbow - just makes me think of Andrew Strauss' cut shot!
And most importantly the Monger, how can you not like the Monger??
-
Symonds Tusker!
Personal Fave - Screaming Cat
-
I have a few
Growing up it was the Gunn and Moore Cannon, and as a military man just sounds the bees knees, and used to sound like a cannon as well
Next the Kook Bubble, loved the graphics on the back
Lastly the Gray nic's Longbow another belting bat

Charlie French has named all if the bats in his current range after either beers or guitars. He has one model named after the Gibson Firebird, which was wielded by non other than blues/rock legend Johnny Winter (RIP). Not sure that the profile suits me, but will definitely try to wangle those stickers for my next bat.
Laver using tank names for different grades of his carbo models (Churchill/Comet/Firefly) is pretty cool too.

I'm a massive fan of the Firebird stickers, embossed and the orange and silver/grey look decent

One of my first proper bats, DF's 'The Magnum'. Reminds me of Dirty Harry's weapon of choice. 'Go ahead Punk, I know what you are thinking ........ !
-
And I forgot to add, Newbery 'Uzi'. Harping back to Arnie in the 'The Terminator'.
-
Monger, Simple as that :D
-

The TON Gusty - for people who play and miss a lot...
-

One of my sons early bats was a horrible painted GM called the "Maxi Banger". Great name unfortunately the bat wasn't!
-
Gray Nicolls Evo just reminds me of the Mitsubishi evo which is one of my favourite cars. Also the vantage from Salix just loved the stickers

Who is Maxi?
Maxi was the bat name and Banger was the nick name of Marcus Trescothic who was a GM sponsored player at the time

Angry Beast - the back looked like an episode of spiderman
