Morning all,
Got these bats about 6 weeks ago off paul after he'd posted some pictures of clefts.
At the time the butterfly stain was unique to paul on the forum and ive had supremes before off him so I asked for 2 identical bats @ 2lb 11oz. One is a standard butterfly and the other a grainy higher end butterfly.

Firstly, pauls service is second to none, he is very honest in what he does. He offers opinion and expertise to match your needs and wants from your bat. I would recommend his skills to anyone who fancies a custom handcrafted bat.
Secondly the bats themselves are a delight to tap up straight out of the box, ive knocked in the toes and edges a little to protect them. Ive used the standard butterfly 3 weeks out the last 4 and its a beauty. Lovely light pick up for the size, lots of wood in the meat of the bat which gives plenty of confidence at the crease.
An absolute bargain for the money, especially for the service, quality of finish and lovely looking blade.

What did you use to take the pictures? A potato? ???
-
Im no david bailey but would blame poor lighting, phone. Etc.
Much like my batting blame anything and everything but myself!
-
With those two beauties your not gonna be able to blame the bats for not scoring a lot of runs

The standard butterfly on the right has lovely grains if you look beyond/through the stain and heartwood. I was interested in the sovereign gold shape or the velocity, but like the classy stickers and profile where the weight sits bang where you need it.
-
With my bat,Paul shaped it while I was there.
I also had the same stickers
I've had most bats from the major bat makers out there and I personally feel, based on value for money, quality of willow and ultimately performance ,no one else comes close
And the other thing with Paul is,, he knows from experience what a good bat is.
No machine is ever gonna be able to replicate that!

We started these bats late November last year since then many companies have started making them and marketing them as a new thing. Just get in touch with me if you want any details

That's what I meant. Cheers for clarifying paul

Indeed some brands have jumped on the butter willow, where does that leave G1++++ ?
-
It will help the grade 1 quality to get better again if the demand drops. Everyone over the last 15 years have demanded clean white faces hence a lot of companies bleaching willow or majority of people wanting top end willow. Grade 1 willow will always be sought after though.
