Title: Focus Kit 2014
Post by: LeeClarkson on August 02, 2014, 09:36:52 AM
Hi guys, thought I would do a review on a new kit I just purchased from Mark at Focus Cricket here in Perth.
I purchased from them last year and was mighty impressed with the performance of their bat, so I took the plunge, sold all of last years kit and bought a full 2014 kit after I saw it's release on Facebook.
Focus has definitely got some classy gear and words can't describe the quality of the kit I purchased, so I've posted a few photos.
Ive run with 2 bats this year, a slightly heavier performance willow bat for the nets and a beautiful light weight Grade1 bat for the games. I've tapped the bats up with a mallet and they are super responsive straight up, as per all the bats that Mark sells.
Counting down the days until the start of the Aussie Season which is just 8 weeks away and with Pre season well underway at South Perth theres many 1st & 2nd Grade WACA players all lining up wanting to feel the amazing balance and response that the bats possess!

Hi mate, can't seem to see the pictures,  anyone else got the same problem?

Also, I like that brands outside this forum get a mention, as I like knowing about them. But with all your posts being focused on one particular brand pretty much, (yes, terrible pun intended) it just suggests to everyone that you're somewhat part of the business etc.

I'm sure what Focus Cricket said about you just being a loyal customer is true, but just spend some time looking at other topics too, otherwise people just think that you're here to advertise for free, undoing what you're trying to do for the image of Focus.

Oh, and my opinion on Focus is that they seem to be doing things right. Branding looks pretty good, and seem to have a decent following on Facebook. Highly unlikely I'll ever see one in person here in Scotland though! (Sad that most of the small brands I've seen in flesh have been due to my impulsive bat buying disorder!)

Also, do you know where Focus bats are made? I think he may have mentioned that Focus are made in the same place Kookaburra are, but I may be imagining things!

Cant see the pics but knowing of Mark and all the effort he has out into his designs for the next AUS summer im sure the you wont be disappointed.
Great to see different brands from outside the Forum. Just goes to show there is plenty of quality out there if people want to find it.
Should really be so much more encouragement and showcasing of these brands so they can become worldwide.

Mark certainly deserves that, his gear looks top notch and classy as anything you have seen.
Cant wait to see his clothing range which he has been showing on Facebook

Well played Son and go well!

Here are the photos guys, thanks for the help pelican hope you like the pictures!
Yes Mark has done a fantastic job in creating such quality in his brand at such a short amount of time, only last year did they burst onto the scene here in Australia and it's great to have a local brand to turn to instead of the mainstream ones!

Lovely looking gear. The blue stickered Performance grade looks pretty big, what weight are both bats? I take it that it is much more reasonably priced than bats of the same quality from retailers there, you guys have to pay some ridiculous prices!

The gear feels just as good as it looks chad! Yeah bats are 2.8 for the LE and 2.10 with the performance willow, but they're beautifully balanced so they feel a lot lighter! The local brands are certainly a hell of a lot cheaper then the mainstream bats. For the same price as a decent mainstream bat I could get a limited edition and performance willow bat from focus!

That gear looks superb, just checked out their website. I love that too, sleek design. I came across a self healing scuff sheet, how does that work.

Hi Guys, thanks for all the kind words.

We have worked extremely hard at getting this range spot on with some exciting new bat profiles and superb quality softs. A big emphasis has been placed on the pressing of our bats - people tapping them up will feel the difference.

Many hours of blood, sweat and tears not to mention money has been spent on getting this 2014 range spot on. Its a pity we don't have a presence in the UK - maybe next season if i can find the right support.

Good luck guys with your season - current or upcoming.

ps. Focus fashion coming soon.

The bat stickers are reminiscent of G&M stickers! Which I think look good and other equipment looks lovely! Good Job!

The kit looks great with nice attention to detail! I also love the full profile bats, not many small companies offer these shapes at the moment. Well done Focus ;)
