Just designed these stickers and also come up with the brandname. Would appreciate any thoughts on them please. Both on the name and actual design.
Bottom sticker basically says where the bat is made and how. Idea is so people know full well what they're getting. Front sticker would be a tad shorter, similar in length to GM or Salix.
-
Where did you get the idea for the name?
-
Derived from the word Willow in Greek. With the S added on to make domain names easier to get hold of.
-
Sorry you know what i think of the name...same for the stickers
-
I like it, the stickers have a very strong greek feeling about them! I think its the font you have used, very clever. How do you pronounce the company name? Overall a really good effort I would say.
-
looks alright, not fussed on them though
-
Pronounced : It-e-ah
exo means, out or outside - Tom [but I guess you may know this]
Cant make out the bottom sticker Tom, Handmade By someone something @ something else?
-
Handmade in England from G1 willow?
-
Yep, looking to brand every bat with where it's come from (Location) and what willow it's from.
And I chose Exo not because of any meaning just as it sounded good :) Bit like Puma with their Iridum's etc!
-
You making them Tom?
-
Bats? Not to start off with. Haven't got the money to buy the tools and bits, so will brand bats until I have a fair bit of money saved.
-
Like those a lot Tom!! You gonna do softs too?
-
Yep, just waiting for suppliers to get back in contact. One's in the UK at the moment so need to wait for him to be back in India and the office to confirm prices etc.
-
The stickers are alright but the name for me just doesn't work. Don't know why but just doesn't strike me on first thought as a name for a bat.
-
Oh well, one thing is the brand name's staying :)
I could have gone for something cricket/wood related, like Cow Corner Bats or Splinter Cricket but I chose Itias as it sounded classy. Classy sounding name was important to me as I'm aiming to get the quality image of Fusion/Salix at CJI prices.
Chose the Greek name, as I wanted something Latin/Greek like Nike, Salix, Asics have done in the past. Obviously has worked out ok for them. The other option was an animal type name, like Puma, Redback etc have done but couldn't think of any good animals.

First sticker design on a bat, apologies for the poor quality.
The silver text, ITIAS will be in Chrome on both sides hopefully.
-
Haha trust you to think of something like that.
-
Have you drilled a hole through the bottom of that bat?
-
Ahh yes, I used to attach a strong piece of elastic and get someone to hold it. Was apparently meant to increase strength and get my bat coming through straighter.
-
hmmm does it whislte :-)
The Run Reaper Dennis Amiss used this for a while. It had a series of conical holes drilled through from the back of the bat, just piercing the front, to increase the spring of the face. When swung vigorously it whistled, opening up opportunities for personalised tunes.
The is another as well I think - strat-something or other
-
Stradvarius? There's one at Fusion, got a pic somewhere.
-
I think the stickers on the bat look better, as they are a better scale then the design on the first page - I think they look good - could maybe try a few colour comnibations, but I like the design and the name
-
I like the stickers on the bat, didn't get the made in one done yet?
-
Nope, only made these on my printer with double sided sticky tape to get the sizes etc.
The sticker saying "Made in etc" will hopefully be ready soon though, I plan to have that on the back alongside a small personalised sticker if the buyer chooses.

Stickers have come back from printing, they've missed a few stickers and details on the front. So that looks ever so plain at the moment, but pleased overall. The bat is one of the top of the range bats I'll be offering, made in Asia.
-
Looks good, love the actual bat aswell. How many grains has it got?
-
15/16 grains, approx 35mm edges and weighs around 2lb 10oz. Yours for £100 ;)
-
The stickers look good and the grip goes really well with the stickers. The bat looks really nice as well.
-
Don't like the sticker on the back at the bottom, as as you've already admitted the front is too plain - really like them apart from that - any progress on soft goods?
-
I know what designs I want for the soft goods which is a pretty plain set of split gloves and some pads quite traditional in style.
I don't think I'll be ordering yet as by the time they come it will be around September time. I want to order for around a November delivery at the very earliest. Had a fair bit of help from Gary (Redback) on here recommending suppliers, he's been very helpful. So should be getting them made by a good manufacturer.
-
Looks very good. Like the colour of the matching grip.
Maybe a dark blue grip would also look good, if possible?
-
I'm going for white grips I think, they look very good on the few I've got. I prefer them to the dull silver.
-
Im very impressed by the stickers Tom. Do you mind me asking how where you got them done?
-
AdCal Labels, E4sby recommended them to me and they're pretty good. Would ring rather than email though.

Pads, will be done up in my logo's of course but to get an idea.
-
Really really like them, is there just going to be a logo at the bottom or top aswell?
-
Very nice pads Tom, remind me of a certain company selling these pads for 80 quid or so.
PS. Did you get my email and what do you think
-
nice looking pads, they have a look of a certain other brand!
how much they guna be tom?
-
They're kind of Salix-esque crossed with Kookaburra pads. Won't be loads, well under £50.
Gloves will be in a matching style with pittards palm.
Logo's, basically Itias written on the front of the pad where everyone writes. In the silver will be Exo in small writing, then Itias on the rest of the top hat. Then a small Exo logo on the strap pull.
-
they sound pretty good
what kind of timeframe before they arrive?
-
Early-Mid March at the latest as it's coming via Air. Before the season certainly.
-
I was going to get some newbery but i could be tempted... problem is i cant wait that long!
-
they look sweet tom - traditional design with a modern edge. I'm I right in thinking that the gloves will be splits?
-
Thanks for the positive comments.
They will be split gloves, based on an SS made glove. I will post photo's tomorrow morning as the gloves are in my luggage.
-
Theyre brilliant Tom
-
They look great tom, could be tempted to buy the gloves, but i'll wait to see the pics.
-

Gloves. Branding on the bottom bar closest to wrist. And on the longest finger section.
-
Tom will you be selling these 2 plain examples of pads and gloves?
-
Pads have been sold already, gloves will sell though.
-
how much for the gloves?
-
£35.
-
Getting any more pads as i think im inlove :P
-
Only Itias branded ones unfortunately, let me know if you're after a pair of them.
The badges aren't huge on the front, I'll send you an image with them on.
-
Ok if you could thatd be great, what colour is the branding?
-
Absolutle rip-off of the salix gloves Tom.
Come up with your OWN style
-
so brands don't copy each other fray Nichols copied sg on the Aussie style nitros and loads more shut up man

Umar,
Please take a look carefully and then come back. Far enough if this was an opinion, but you're calling it a rip-off when it's not the same!!
It's a different design to the Salix gloves in terms of actual style. This design is actually based on an SS done glove produced for Kingsport with a few minor alterations taken from other gloves such as the BD gloves and Newbery.
-
Hi Tom. Will you make any other pairs of plain white gloves, if so can you send me pictures.
:)
-
Hi Tom,
Have you already started to sell the ITIAS bats? Its just because i read this link and on Saturday i was at Lords playing some uni indoor cricket and saw somebody wielding an ITIAS bat.....seemed to go pretty well!
Good luck for the future season man
-
Itias bats have been selling for a while through Ebay and the forums
-
Yep pretty cool that some has seen one being used though, thanks for letting me know. There must be 50 bats out there maximum, only really started selling them in September last year. So interesting that one has already been spotted by a forum member.
