Title: Bat Problems
Post by: HudCricketer on August 04, 2014, 04:08:44 PM
My bats never seem to last a good length of time, with my latest bat the bottom corner of the toe has snapped off (see picture).
I net twice a week, and play on a wednesday night and a saturday afternoon, and occasional sundays. Is it worth getting a net bat to prolong the life of my bats?

yes - especially as people use dreadful balls in the nets.
pick up an MSR bat or similar at the same weight to your match bat and bob's your uncle.

Yes, you need (at bare minimum)
A match bat
An indoor net bat
An outdoor net bat
A wet weather bat
A dry weather bat
A throw down bat
A T20 bat
A catching practice bat
A spare bat
A midweek match bat
A Sunday friendly bat
And an emergency bat

Agree with you 100%, and unfortunately far too many inferior quality cricket balls are being used in matches too.

poor quality cricket balls aren't a problem in league games as it is a league rule that the league branded ball has to be used

The league I'm in is the same, sadly the club balls are all a bit like painted rocks so netting is a nightmare, club balls + sports direct bat breakers = unhappy batsmen (every year, without fail)

the new bat you are knocking in
the high middled bat for the bouncy track
the low middled bat for the dust bowl
the plank in the garage you hate

edit, plus...
the bowling machine bat covered in greed marks
the bat you play in the garden with

the beautiful 13+ grained bat with great ping
the beautiful 13+ grained bat with terrible ping
