Title: Slazenger V100 G1 TAS
Post by: Gingerbusiness on August 10, 2014, 12:07:18 PM
Morning all,

I recently brought one through the Sports Direct sale to be my net bat (bit heavier than my Woodstock).

Instead i have found myself using it instead if the Woodstock - bat goes like an absolute train. A teammate used it yesterday and said the performance is as good as anything he has ever used (He is sponsored by GN).

I have heard rumours that Slazenger are taking the cricket side of the business much more seriously this season - but in terms of value for money, I have never had a bat perform quite like the Slazenger - even my beloved Mjolnir's and Amplus's.

Anyone with any similar experiences? Or is this just a one off which I have got insanely lucky with?

I think you may have been lucky.  I had a lower grade one that definitely wasn't special.

What does the tas technology feel like?   I've heard the tas bats vibrate more than usual. Middle feel impossibly wide compared to the concaving? Any pics?

I will post some tomorrow.

I will say the bat feels very, very rigid. Hardly any vibration from mistimed shots so it is certainly doing something. The bat I have certainly translates more mistimed shots into runs. I would say I had to knock it in, and play it in, for the first half of the season. They are pressed very firmly.

When I brought it, I brought a G2 as well.

The G2 was the same weight but had 37mm edges, the G1 I have has 41mm edges. The weight is 2'10.

My only complaint is the concaving which has to take place to get the edges big enough to support the TAS effectively - it is brutal.

Good you mentioned the time to knock in and their pressing. My V1200 fusion is getting better the longer I play it in and I think we all want a soft pressed bat that pings out of the wrapping.

I wouldn't worry too much about concaving either if it is playing well. Refurbished a Kookaburra Blade recently and it felt fine for off centre shots despite its concaving. I think it's just the flavour of the month.

I'd have to agree. Big fan. If you'd be willing to sell me a couple of sets and post to Australia I'd be happy to put of a few of my blank bats.

Nice looking bat. Nothing wrong with the bat concaving either, serious concaving is an old woodworm.

The stickers might get Hasbro interested, but for now you have a Monopoly on them.  ;)

TAS inserts and toe guard is a dead giveaway....not to mention the thread title.
