Title: Vintage range
Post by: buddyb on August 13, 2014, 02:51:54 PM
So today I have been experimenting with creating a vintage style design that is eye catchy and still has a vintage old fashioned feel. This is what I have managed to create after a few failed attempts of getting it on the bat without the ink bleeding.

Let me know your thoughts.

Looks smart mate, but not sure if there's likely to be a big market for it.

How long were you there with a biro getting it to look that good btw??  ;)

I reckon it'd look good on the back if you came up with a different design for the front - doesn't quite stand out enough for me

Great idea though!

From an era where 'less is more'.

Not sure of the market size, but as big thumbs up for being entrepreneurial

I am thinking old Westerns, Whiskey [Johnny Walker in particular].

Realistic price will guarantee sales :-)

is this just a label design or a new bat shape mate

I think the Oxymoron of "Vintage Range" and "Handmade since 2012" is quite amusing....

Haha wasn't using a biro thankfully. It's actually quite easy to do.

There is still a lot of tweaking to do before it's 100%

That's basically what I'm aiming to achieve. Less being more. Keeping things simple

The idea behind this range is recreating vintage replica style bats that are made for the modern game. I've been spending months researching the history of bat making through archives and the branding side. So I have remake my the whole process of the bat being made and is how they were made and branded back in the Bradman era.

Haha Yes that's the only little bit I am unsure off with the design. Thinking about reworking that bit.

I like it, but you need some sort of little circle on at least one of the top corners, all old bats have them!

That was today's plan to get something for that bit. Don't know whether to do my county's badge or use simple text.
